While it's not an arcade game, it's so cool we decided on checking it out anyway. From 1987 it's Hudson Soft's Shooting Watch! This handy little gizmo tracks the amount of button presses you can do within 10 seconds. Players in Japan used this to build up their skills in shooting games like Galaga and Star Soldier. The Shooting Watch was re-released in a limited edition 10,000 unit run and you can pick yours up at import sites like NCXS.com and eBay as well.

Did you know that Pele endorsed a football game released to rival World Cup USA 94? Well, neither did I until I found this game. A few points about this video before the complaints roll in. The narration largely sucks, but I did three takes and this was probably the best of them. Yes, I know Brian O'Brien is a right back, I just couldn't be bothered re-recording the narration for that part. I really didn't know that the 'penalties' option meant all fouls - I assumed that it referred to having penalties to decide a drawn match. I only found that out AFTER I'd done the bulk of the video, and had to tag on that bit in the middle about the instruction manual. Perhaps I go a bit over the top with the criticism here, but it's all in the name of entertainment, and it's my considered opinion that this game is no more than average due to issues outlined in the video. Finally, this vid is another blatant ripoff. Can you guess who of? :-)
