I know it s been a long time, but here s a complete update of where we re at. All the inspections went well and I ve insulated and hung around 4000 square feet of drywall. I m currently working on hanging the cabinets and priming as my drywall finisher wraps up rooms.

A lot has been happening (I m spending 50+ hours a week right now)! we ve got windows coming this week and I ve been meeting with insulation contractors to try to work a way to use foam. I ve got my electrical inspection scheduled for thursday morning (cross your fingers) and Gina has got all the wall paper off in the girl s room. I also tackled the smaller back roof and flat roof over wendy s room a couple of weeks ago (yes it was the hottest week of the summer - sheesh)

I m putting a new face on the blog. Up to this point, I haven t really done a lot with the blog. The original intention of the blog was to provide a place for students to collaborate, communicate, and share information. Since I have recently learned to podcast and vodcast, I am going to make an attempt to convert this blog to a vlog. For those unfamiliar with a vlog, it is simply a video log that can be subscribed. In other words, if you have downloaded a program like FireAnt or iTunes (commonly referred to as podcatchers), you can subscribe to the vodcast and each time you open your podcatcher it will automatically go and retrieve the latest postings which you can then watch on your computer via the program or download to your iPod. The beauty of downloading to an iPod is that you now have portable content. The one thing I want to make clear about this transition is that it is not an attempt to produce professional video. This video is simple and to the point. No flashy transitions or cool music. Vodcasting is simply a new media that allows you to take your content (educational or not) on the fly. For those of you with MP3 players don t feel left out. I m also planning to post a few podcasts here that will be downloadable to your MP3 player. If you find the first few videos or MP3 files useful, please post a comment. If you find them useless, boring, and think that they generally suck, then please post that comment also. I ll create new videos/MP3s or abandon the vodcasting/podcasting idea based on the feedback I get from you.

The Aviation Trainer web site averages 15,000 hits per month with around 1200 unique visits. Upon reviewing the site visitors, I discovered that users are accessing the web site from all over the world. In addition, I receive many e-mails with questions from those who are hoping to get accepted or have already been accepted to flight school. Although there is a discussion board available on the web site, it occurred to me that many may be more comfortable accessing and reading a blog. Thus an Aviation Trainer Blog was born. Anyone is welcome to post and reply on this blog. However, I reserve the right to delete flaming and other unnecessary behavior. I do not in any way support or endorse the views of others posted on this blog. This is simply an open forum for those interested in, participating in, or hoping to attend IERW.
