Some info on the man behind the book: Charles-Louis Hanon (July 2, 1819--March 19, 1900) was a French piano pedagogue and composer. He is most well known for his work The Virtuoso Pianist In 60 Exercises which has become part of the standard method for modern piano teachers. Abby Whiteside (1881-1956) Did not like the Hanon method and advocated use of arm technique. In this piano lesson I show you how to break up a regular piano chord into a technique called Alberti Bass. It makes piano chords more interesting and can also give the chord more direction instead of a regular block chord sound. In this lesson, I review intervals, try to go a bit more in depth with them. Also, i try to explain what a perfect and plagal cadence is.
