A survey commissioned by the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) shows 37 percent of boys reported being victims of cyberbullying in 2006. In another finding, the study determined that although girls tend to cyberbully more often, boys cyberbully as well. Cyberbullying is defined as using the Internet or mobile devices to send or post repeated harmful or cruel text messages or images. It is a disturbing and growing trend among teens who use the Internet to communicate regularly, and now with a computer, web access (or text messaging device), they can bully their classmates and others in a public forum. The ad was created by Connecticut-based The Plowshare Group and funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice. The PSA directs boys to the website www.ncpc.org to learn more about how to prevent cyberbullying.
