The third season of the Freeride World Tour will kick off already in November in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. On the 19th of November, the FWT Kick Off Party will take place downtown Chamonix, including the FWT’09 Photo book release and the new film with 2009 “best of” images - fresh for the occasion. Renowned for their endurance and aggressive behavior, Wild Stallions are notoriously elusive and rarely captured on film. Meathead Films dedicated the 2009 season to tracking stampedes all over the Eastern U.S. and Canada range. In this never-before-seen footage, watch as stallions gallop across the countryside, navigating treacherously deep snow and bewildering urban terrain. Learn about this misunderstood animal and what drives them to perform tremendous athletic feats in such a hostile environment. Shot in High Definition, 16mm and Super 8 film, Wild Stallions will prove once and for all, that some animals just can’t be tamed…

After the success of “Up In Snow” notably awarded the Best Visual Effect at the 2008 IF3, Ride the Planets is proud to present “Can’t Stop”, starring Sammy Carlson. This film is officially presented by Salomon, The Mountain Sports Company along with our partners: ARVA, Skipass.com, Skieur magazine, Xtreme Video. This year’s film, directed by Dom Janiszewski, is the outcome of a solid collaboration between Dom and Sammy, who has been involved in every stage from planning to graphic design. They began shooting just before the X-Games in Aspen and the surrounding areas. The next big stop was in Europe in Montgenèvre where they had excellent conditions. Then to finalize everything, Dom spent over a month in the US travelling all over the place with Sammy and company. The film also features freeskiers such as Matt Walker, Tanner Hall, Simon Dumont, Tommy Ellingson, Mike Hornbeck, Ben Moxham, Liam Downey, Nick Martini, Thomas ‘Bichon’ Diet as well as ‘Sammy’s kids’ Willie Borm and Seamus Flanagan. Of course, our infamous speedflying shots with Antoine Montant chasing Thomas ‘Bichon’ Diet that won the Best Sports Sequence award at the Nissan Outdoor Games Chamonix 2009.
