IFC Films has acquired all North American rights to Che and will release it for one week on December 12, 2008 in New York City and Los Angeles in December in order to qualify for the Academy Awards. The film will re-open on January 9, 2009 in these two cities as two separate films, titled Che Part 1: The Argentine and Che Part 2: Guerrilla. The films will then be released in 25 markets beginning January 16 and 22 and will expand further after that.
