If the deal does indeed go through, Google plans to fold the site into its "Google News" subsite. Microsoft, which is currently in the midst a three year advertising deal with Digg, attempted to purchase the site last year. The newly named "Twitter Search" does everything that Summize used to do, only under a different name. And what better way to celebrate your birthday than to announce an affiliation. That's right. The Jing project is now a part of SnagIt developer TechSmith. Judging by the documentation available on the Jing website, TechSmith will be marketing the three platforms in "tiers" - a "good, better, best" approach.
