In Tokyo, the underground movement as a community concept , is a new wave catapulted from a party showyly so-called VANITY. Tokyo’s VANITY-party is dedicated to the sounds of electroclash - like tracks by Miss Kittin The Hacker, Fischerspooner, MIA, Goldfrapp or T.Raumschmiere - which have been filtering through to Japan from the West over the past year. The inventors of the new party-series wanted to bring together confident new music with confident new fashion, and Vanity was the result: The new Japanese fashion trend Gothic Lolita - mainly punklolis - as already reported, joined the new electroclash style. Tokyos party scene : Vanity party @ La Fabrique, Linda party @ Chelsea Hotel, Hells Yeah!!! party @ Unit-Salon, Meat party @ Wire, Licks party @ Wedge, Teenage Kicks party @ Plug. For more info on that go to thefashionramone website. According to the theme Tokyo`s underground parties another club has to be mentioned : WOMB! The line up of DJ that used to spin there is one of the most prestigious in Tokyo including Victor Calderone, Jeff Mills, David Morales, Dave Seaman, Danny Howells and so on.
