Stephen Crumlish suffers from a disease known as Antitrypsin Deficiency. Stephen lives in Buncrana, Co. Donegal and receives treatment for this disease in the Mater Hospital, Dublin to which he travels every week and has been doing so for the last thirteen years of his life. A documentary I made for my dissertation at university. Most shots filmed using the FIG RIG, very pleased with that piece of equipment but it was the first time I had used it so I was a little rusty. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out,but will most likely add more in time. I do not own any of the music used in this piece, this documentary is a non profit production for a university module, please do not sue! If you like the music please buy! amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=thomas+newman&x=0&y=0 amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=fleet+foxes&x=0&y=0 amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=interpol&x=0&y=0 amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h__0_5?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ennio+morricone&x=0&y=0&sprefix=ennio Cast: Dean Crumlish

Manfrotto ‘Snowboarding’ Fig Rig

Manfrotto ‘Snowboarding’ Fig Rig

from Masoverreacher on January 12, 2009
Duration: 110
Expert snowboarder Euan Southcott used the Manfrotto Fig Rig to help film footage for a project called Freezing Level about global warming told through the eyes of winter sports enthusiasts. Euan filmed in four different countries in some pretty difficult to reach locations which meant quite often his team was restricted to small cameras. We were looking at ways of keeping things stable but also the ability to get in close and still have fluidity, says Euan. I was lucky enough to find the Manfrotto Fig Rig which enables us to get stability and a wider grip on a smaller camera. The other thing that was fantastic about the Fig Rig was that were filmed on anything from chairlifts, boats and cars and the ability to just grab shots from strange view points and to pick up vox pop style interviews in conditions and locations where normally it would be difficult was invaluable. Furthermore we used it with the LAN attachment (that comes with the Fig Rig) enabling us to snowboard with our gloves on and still control the zoom, focuses of the small camera when you are moving. This allowed us to get right in amongst the action of the snowboarders and really feel were part of the action we are watching! After years of using the Fig Rig on his award-winning films, Mike Figgis brought his idea to Manfrotto. An idea that is non-traditional in design, but purely simple and effective. The only modular system in the world to smoothly support the DV camera and act as a frame to mount all the accessories including zoom controllers, mics, mixers, lights, monitors, arms. A circular frame with a crossbar to mount most mini DV cameras, the Fig Rig becomes part of the body to produce smooth, steady travelling shots. I try to sound like I know what I'm talking about, and as far as figs, fig rig or Mr. Mike Figgis. I know nothing. I did know I would build my own FigRig from one of the many on-line DIY how to's. TZ05 - Camera Stabilization Equipment

TZ05 - Camera Stabilization Equipment

from on June 05, 2007
Duration: 0
In this episode, we dive into the expensive, or, at the least, tedious realm of camera stabilization equipment. This ranges from the all-powerful, all-knowing fluid tripod head, to the much used and often abused dolly. We don t own and operate an actual Steadicam or a jib or a crane, but hey, we ll mention them, too. We ll cover: Track dolly, Fluid tripod head, Homemade Fig Rig, Car mount, Zooming To compliment this episode, we re making a very short film that will employ as much of the above equipment as possible. We should hopefully be able to post it on Friday. [See post to watch Flash video] download the video show notes: Take our listener survey!
