The National Cherry Festival kicked off this past weekend, and while there are countless activities going on in Traverse City, many other local communities held their own festivals over the weekend. Vic McCarty explains.

It was still early in the day-long festivities. Aside from the musical performances, food vendors, carnival rides, and games, there were also booths by different sponsors. There was even a tent for Tree Adoption, and there were visitors lugging around trees!

It is the second most important European competition for club teams, the first being the UEFA Champions League. The competition was traditionally open to the runners-up of domestic leagues, but in 1999, the competition was merged with the Cup Winners' Cup.
