Felix wants to know the future, so he first goes to see a Gypsy who tells him that misfortune is going to happen, Felix doesn't believe her one little bit, so he goes to the local astrologer, Professor Whoozit who tells Felix that he trips over a horseshoe and throws it and it ends up knocking down a robber who's robbing a rich man. The rich man takes Felix to his house and gives him a big meal and some of his money, which Felix woos Kitty with. So, Felix thanks the astrologer and he's on his merry way, he tells his fat friend about the prediction and celebrates with cigars, but the lighter ends up on a stick of dynamite which blows Felix and his pal to the edge of a cliff, so Felix tries to save him, but Felix gets kicked by a donkey and he lands at the horseshoe. Felix (of course) throws the horseshoe and it ends up crashing a window, and Felix getting the brick back (on the head!) and then Felix gets hit by a car which has Kitty and some other cat who just got married, so Felix throws a brick at the astrologer. Despite the description, this is not a bad movie.

Crazy tale of some poor sap having too much to drink and finds himself married to a married woman. Similar to Barack Obama awakening this morning finding himself being forced into a shotgun wedding with Hillary Clinton as his running mate.

The lady of the title is author Dorinda Hatch (Joan Caulfield), who writes a scathing best-seller in which she trashes all men. Photographer Bill Shelby (David Niven) vows to make Dorinda eat her words, thereby proving the superiority of the male of the species. Suffice to say that he doesn't succeed--at least until the very, very end. The middle portion of The Lady Says No consists of a surrealistic dream sequence in which Dorinda realizes that she loves Bill despite his rampant chauvinism. This film is not a likely candidate for screening at the next N.O.W. meeting. Lady Says No was produced and directed by Frank Ross, who at the time was married to star Joan Caulfield. The evil Captain Kidd sees the goose and breaks into Felix's house to get it. He brings the goose to his pirate ship. Felix arrives too late to catch the ship. Goldie won't lay for the pirates. Felix sees a cannon and turns himself into a human cannonball to catch teh ship. With help from Goldie and another cannon, he subdues the crew, wrapping them in the sail and depositing them in the hold. He and Kidd have a swordfight, but their swords melt together. Kidd chases Felix up the mast, then foolishly cuts off his own support. He falls into the hold. They sail for home, where Felix fires off cannonloads of gold coins. (IMDb)
