Aero-TV Looks At Zedasoft's 'Sim-In-A-Box' Mobile Training Strategy

Aero-TV Looks At Zedasoft's 'Sim-In-A-Box' Mobile Training Strategy

from Ghettoking on September 29, 2008
Duration: 460
Take Your Training Right To Where the Action Is Training is a constant issue in the hard-fought (literally) world of the combat pilot. In the areas where pilots are ready for action, there are usually a scarcity of the support systems that they might have known in more civilized locales. There's certainly little room for some of the most complex training devices and sims in the vicinity of an active combat zone.... but that may no longer be true due to a novel approach by an innovative military simulator company by the name of Zedasoft. ZedaSoft is a 'spin-off' from RIVA Technologies... which made the change in 2000 to focus exclusively on the simulation and visualization marketplace. RIVA had been providing simulation software development since its inception in 1993 for companies such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Training, Federal Aviation Administration, Silicon Graphics and SportSimulation, Inc. In 1996 RIVA also began producing interactive learning products on CDROM and web based testing products to the commercial markets. These products have become very successful and represent the state-of-the art in the web based e-learning industry. Based on this success, it was important for RIVA to focus on these products, but at the same time make sure focus and attention was applied in continuing its support for the simulation software clients it developed. In response to this need, ZedaSoft was spun off as a separate company to serve this marketplace and provide dedicated resources to its clientele. Though many of the technical resources still exchange technologies and ideas between the companies, the management focus for each company is dedicated to serving their specific industry. The Portable Simulator Desktop (PSD) concept alluded to, above, is an all-in-one aircraft simulator desktop control and computer system in a single travel case. The PSD is ideal for deployment training and portable aggressor stations. Our CBA of Simulation software is included with each unit, which can be tailored to simulate your desired cockpit systems. The entire system can be set-up in minutes and includes options for three 20" LCD visual scene channels or large 30" LCD?s for both the out-the-window and instrument displays. Pricing starts at $50,000 US per unit and supports a number of current fighter aircraft such as the F-16, FA-18 and F-22. OSHCast 2008: Aero-TV Salutes The USAF Heritage Flight Program

OSHCast 2008: Aero-TV Salutes The USAF Heritage Flight Program

from The Lodge at Taylor Ranch | Disc Golf on July 30, 2008
Duration: 535
We Admit It... We Get a Lump In Our Throats Over This Stuff There can't be a patriotic aviator anywhere in America immune to the "Lump In Your Throat" sensation created by the extraordinary sights, sounds and aura of a USAF Heritage Flight. The USAF Heritage Flight program was established in 1997 to commemorate the Air Force's 50th anniversary. It involves today's state-of-the-art fighters flying in close formation with World War II, Korean and Vietnam era fighters such as the P-51 Mustang and the F-86 Sabre. The flight's mission is to safely and proudly display the evolution of U.S. Air Force airpower and to support the Air Force's recruiting and retention efforts. According to the USAF, there are 21 pilots in this program. The modern Air Force fighters are piloted by the seven Air Combat Command (ACC) single-ship demonstration team pilots and the vintage warbirds are piloted by 12 civilians, including former Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine pilots, and several former astronauts. In addition, two active duty F-4 pilots and an F-22A pilot joined the program in 2005. During the 2008 Ocean City AirShow, ANN's Jim Campbell got a chance to sit down with one of the USAF's finest... an F-15 Jock by the name of Sam Joplin, who gave us some inside info on what the heritage Flight Program means to one of the men who flies for it. Aero-TV Takes In An All-American Airshow... OCAS '08!

Aero-TV Takes In An All-American Airshow... OCAS '08!

from Aero-TV Network on July 16, 2008
Duration: 479
Beachfront Airshow Gives Summer Crowds Plenty To See The "All-American Airshow" is a wonderful concept that is as much a part of the summer experience as a day at the beach... and the OCAS '08 event -- the first of many we're told -- was a bit of both. It was Ocean City, MD s first ever airshow and was initiated to kick off the town s 2008 summer season on June 10-11, 2008, adding a new signature attraction to Ocean City s roster of annual events. Military aircraft demonstrations, low altitude flyovers and civilian aerobatic performances took place over the Ocean City beachfront from noon to 4 pm each day. The airshow was visible along the majority of the Boardwalk creating an inspiring experience for visitors while they enjoyed the hospitality of Ocean City s beach and attractions. Interactive displays and exhibits were offered to the public on the streets surrounding Show Center. The Ocean City Municipal Airport also hosted an open house in conjunction with the OC Air Show on Monday, June 9, where performing aircraft were viewed up close along with other aircraft. The first event went spectacularly well. In addition to the open house, the show boasted a Blue Angels Flyover, performances by the GEICO Skytypers, a USAF Heritage flight, USAF F-16 Viper Demo Team, USAF F-15 Eagle Demo Team, USAF Reserve Biplane, Embry Riddle Mono-plane, The Yak Attack, C-17/C-5 Flyovers, a NASA P-3 Flyover and many other major attractions... including Golden Knight landings right on the beach. Battling the heat, more than 2,500 aviation enthusiasts came out to walk the open house's flight line for a closer look at the performing aircraft as they arrived and despite some occasional hassles with ramp personnel (the ONLY low note for the entire event), spectators were also able to visit with pilots and crews. General admission was free since the show could be viewed from the beach and boardwalk, while premium viewing opportunities and club house V.I.P. chalets were available to businesses and public attendees. The outcome was obviously successful as the Ocean City folks and airshow organizer Bryan Lilley have committed to 2009's event already... be sure to check this show next year on June 6-7, 2009! This is a signature aviation event, said Lilley. The OC Air Show (is) the first major waterfront show in the Mid Atlantic region offering easy access from Baltimore, Washington DC and Philadelphia.
