Crooked Rot
from Top Rated July 27, 2008
A return to the stop-motion here with Crooked (Orcus) Rot. This started off as an experiment to see if stop-frame would be any better using an SLR camera. The result would certainly suggest so visually, but it was a hell of a lot harder. This project really began when I discovered a treasure cave of strange items in my own back yard including mannequin heads and rubber hands. It inspired me so much that every time I returned I gathered more inspiration. Originally I focused on capturing light which is why the SLR was so important, but eventually it almost became a sequel to Hell with all the blood flying about . Composer Marcus Fjellström who donated some of his music for Men From Up The Stairs became interested in the project when I posted a few screen shots on Newgrounds and went on to compose the entire musical score. This is interesting because it's the first time that I have made a video first and then sent it to someone else to do the music. This video is 100% stop-frame. There is no CGI, after effects or computer filters used to create any of the effects. Remember to watch this in high quality to enjoy it more and please subscribe. http://www.fat-pie.com http://www.kafkagarden.com (Marcus Fjellström)

The Rolling Stones - Sweet Virginia - WITH LYRICS!
from YouTube :: Tag // virginia January 01, 2008
Get the ringtone: http://www.ringtonegal.com/The-Rolling-Stones/Sweet-Virginia/ Lyrics: Wadin' through the waste stormy winter, And there's not a friend to help you through. Tryin' to stop the waves behind your eyeballs, Drop your reds, drop your greens and blues. Thank you for your wine, California, Thank you for your sweet and bitter fruits. Yes I got the desert in my toenail And I hid the speed inside my shoe. But come on, come on down Sweet Virginia, Come on, honey child, I beg of you. Come on, come on down, you got it in ya. Sweet Virginia lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com Got to scrape the shit right off you shoes. I want you to come on, come on down Sweet Virginia, I want you come on, honey child, I beg of you. . The Hole
from YouTube :: Tag // motion-graphics April 10, 2007
Once upon a time, Big Eye discovered a hole in the sky. He was curious what is behind this hole but most people just did not care. Someone said it is a dangerous place. Someone said it is where God lives. Someone said it is a wonderland. However, no one had ever been to the hole. Eventually Big Eye decided to go to this mysterious place to find the real answer... "The Hole" exists in everyone's heart. There is always something that we miss or long for throughout our life, though we may not understand what the exact missing thing is. Whether you would take action to find the answer or be content with the existing achievement depends on the very first step. This is my emotional journey to London. But, like the story, I am still not sure the next step after discovering another new world. It seems to me that there are many different holes which I have to fill up at different stages. Tomorrow is never in my hand but I enjoy every adventure I am going through right now. :) Author: ahleong1124 Keywords: the hole animation video motion graphics my journey cherry leong ahleong weird big eye eyeballs bloody eyes Added: April 10, 2007

Sam Sethi podcast
from PodLeaders - Thought Leaders podcast October 06, 2006
Episode 45 of the PodLeaders show - 36 mins 31 secs Listen here My guest on the show this week is Sam Sethi. Sam is an entrepreneur, technologist (entrepologist) and consultant. Sam has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years for companies like Microsoft (strategy director in MSN UK ), Netscape, Gateway Computers and CMGi, in a variety of senior technical and marketing roles. Most recently Sam has been charged with setting up TechCrunch UK. Here are the questions I asked Sam and the times I asked them: Can you give us a bit of background on how you got into the tech business? - 00:51 And how did you break out of that into Netscape, Gateway and your present consultancy role? - 01:54 But Netscape took off for a while and brought us the Internet - 02:39 You have been director of strategy for MSN, what is MSN and what is its strategy? - 03:56 How does Microsoft s new Live.com brand differentiate itself from MSN? - 05:15 So we will see Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. made available through a browser? - 06:15 And what is to stop me from logging on and telling them that I am a 99 year old woman from Abu Dhabi? - 08:33 Back in the bubble of 1999, it was all about getting eyeballs to your site. The current strategy is very similar today. How do the two differ? - 09:26 Is microsoft s Adcentre now available outside the US? - 11:54 When you say the MSN one is best, is that because it is more profile specific? - 13:35 When are these Web 2.0 applications going to become mainstream? - 14:37 Audience questions: Jeremiah Owyang: 1) future of microformats, what will happen, what will the adoption rate be, if any? - 16:18 2) There are so many startups (and the barriers to entry are low) how many per focus area will we have? Will there be a shakeout like in 2000? - 22:34 3) If you had to invest your money in one tech company, and can’t touch it for 10 years, which one would it be? (can’t choose his own company, or one he’s partnered with) - 25:34 Conor O Neill: Sam had mentioned microformats a few times on Vecosys and dropped some hints about business ideas in that space. Is he in a position to talk more about the areas he is looking at? If not, does he have any general thoughts on them from a business perspective? - 27:02 My questions once more: Interesting, can you talk about Liquid List s business model? - 30:27 Any idea of a timeline for launch? - 32:37 And finally, how did the UK Techcrunch come about? - 33:07 Download the entire interview here (16.7mb mp3) UPDATE - there appears to have been an issue with the file that the Flash player was using and it was playing the audio too fast. I have replaced that file and hopefully this one works better!
