Hong Kong celebrates Obama victory

Hong Kong celebrates Obama victory

from Micfri on November 05, 2008
Duration: 247
http://www.scmp.com/video It wasn't just the stock market that reacted positively to Barack Obama's historic win yesterday. As ballot boxes around the United States emptied yesterday, Americans gathered excitedly at "Election Central" in Hong Kong to watch the results as they were announced. At a bipartisan event, organised by the American Chamber of Commerce, The League of Women Voters, Republicans Abroad, Democrats Abroad, the US Consulate, and the American Women s Association, most present showed their support for Senator Obama. Huddled around TV screens in a cramped and stuffy room in Central, the crowd were rewarded as the presidential candidate won the major swing states. As if further evidence of his popularity was needed, the Democrats also won a mock ballot with 90 per cent of the vote. In this video, watch the reaction from both camps as the election results slowly began to show the extent of the Democrat victory.
