¨How We Saved The Earth" (Museum Exhibit Concept)
from YouTube :: Tag // secondlife July 20, 2008
This is a video-prototype of a project for a museum exhibit meant to be universally accessible by handicapped users as well as non-handicapped users. The museum is set "in the future" but presented in the present. It represents the story of different artifacts "the human race used to utilize" as resources for energy and living and how we stopped using them given how harmful they are to the environment. The museum shows what resources "the human race replaced" for better, more efficient and environmentally friendly alternatives. I apologize for the massive amount of spelling errors within the video. The person who edited the second part of this presentation did so in a rush and I never had access to the original Second Life files to re-edit it myself. Dale Chihuly desktop backdrop
from YouTube :: Tag // christmas June 22, 2008
I got my desktop background attending an exhibit in Pittsburg during Christmas.. Dale permitted people to take pictures of his exhibit just so long as people used them for their own use, so this is my use.. I've got hundreds of photos of his works, but he's rather sensitive about people showing his works on the net.. The best way to experience his works are in person.. But Dale if you are reading this, I also got stereograms of your sculptures, so if you want to make some viewmaster slides, you know who to contact. Be the Dinosaur - Do I defend myself?
from YouTube :: Tag // second life May 26, 2008
A compilation of all of the video in the "Do I defend Myself?" topic found in the Rock Formation stations within the Be the Dinosaur exhibit. In the stations, the video is played in 20-40 second segments under user control.Be the Dinosaur is focused on exploring some of the greatest mysteries of paleontology - dinosaur behavior - in a completely interactive way. How might they have lived? What was a day in the life of a dinosaur like? What can fossil evidence tell us about the way extinct animals lived their lives? Be the Dinosaur allows museum visitors to do what they have always wanted to do - to "become" dinosaurs. Taking control of a digital animal in a detailed simulated ecosystem replete with wind currents that circulate odors, plant life with different nutritional values, artificially intelligent dinosaurs, mammals, reptiles and birds, etc.. Visitors need to learn what a dinosaur would have known by instinct - knowledge about the environment, where to find food, what foods are better than others, how to defend or hunt, etc. in order to survive the virtual cretaceous. Take control of your virtual dinosaur and decide for yourself: were tyrannosaurs hunters, scavengers or both? Did they hunt in packs or as solitary creatures? How would terrain impact an animal's lifestyle? Try the behaviors for yourself and decide!
