Conservation Seen Through Snow Leopard Eyes
from Weekday Podcast on August 14, 2009

There are between 3,500 and 7000 snow leopards left in the wild. That's the best estimate researchers have. They are a difficult animal to track. Snow leopards are reclusive, and their preferred climate is harsh so harsh that a human tear freezes instantly on the skin. Poaching, dwindling food supply, loss of habitat, retribution from herders and war are rapidly killing them off. What conservation efforts are being made? Why does it matter? How are large conservation issues like this addressed? How is our local community involved? Then, the weekend weather forecast with Cliff Mass.
