Soulful New Orleans

Soulful New Orleans

from Metacafe - How To Videos by Metacafe on October 07, 2009
Duration: 160
Lonely Planet author Tom Downs loves New Orleans' soulful, saucy and eccentric nature. Located as far South as geographically possible in the USA, it's only mildly American in flavour, more a gumbo of French, Carribbean and African American. Tourists might flock to Bourbon Street's non-stop carnival but the whole city really knows how to have a great time. [HIP HOP] IS ALIVE. THIS IS THE PHRAYDOE PEANS MUSIC BLOG. I AM A [HIP HOP] ARTIST/PRODUCER HIPHOP IS MY CLUTRUE I WIIL BE DICUSING MY LIFE AND MY MUSIC PROJECTS. TUNE IN WEEKLY. I HOPE YOU ENJOY MY WERIED OUT LOOK OF LIFE PEACE. EARS AND EYES GO HERE http://www.myspace.com/phraydoepeans http://www.phraydoepeans.com Since the dawn of civilization there was a breed of man that were responsible for the healing of souls. These people were the shamans, wizards, oracles, medicine men of their communities. They were the first [HIP HOP] philosophers, scientists, healers, magicians and artists. They used the law of nature and its substances in combination with percussion, vocals, echoes, and other sources of vibration to put themselves and those they chose to heal in altered states [HIP HOP] to gain a greater sense of the true nature of things. Sound and vibration were critical in the healing rituals. These eccentric people discovered all types of art including story telling, poetry, painting, sculpture, dance, and were the ones who laid the foundation for the infinite universe we know now as music. They more than anybody knew the hidden power of music and how music can make a person kill themselves or bring a person back to life. With the ever expanding human consciousness and the souls need for a higher connection it was time for the next generation of music. With a new generation comes evolution and the imagination of this evolution is producer/shaman [HIP HOP] Phraydoe Peans. One can find Phraydoe cultivating his music with a blunt in his mouth blowing herbal smoke in the air, crystals all around to amplify the natural vibrations, and the channeling of spirits to be in attendance during his rituals. Yes spirits, rituals and spells, but do not be alarmed or freighted. Phraydoe explains that the spirits inspire him to produce these organic musical spells. Spells because of the effects that they have on one's soul. In his production one can hear the fusions of anything and everything from Hip Hop, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Soul, Salsa, Cumbia, Tribal and of course nature's sounds. Phraydoe Peans has been influenced by every shade of the sound spectrum. His whole catalog encompasses his incredible eccentric production. To understand what makes Phraydoe's metronome tick one must understand where the tempo of his life came from.

Jess Paintings and Paste-ups at TIBOR DE NAGY GALLERY

Jess Paintings and Paste-ups at TIBOR DE NAGY GALLERY

from Bigmouth Media on July 23, 2008
Duration: 599
James Kalm ignores the sweltering heat wave to visit this astounding exhibition of works by legendary San Francisco artist Jess. Since rejecting a career in nuclear physics to pursue his unique vision of art, Jess (Burgess Collins, 1923-2004) has created one of the most influential reputations on the West Coast. With an independence of thought, Jess evolved an unmistakable painting style, as well as carried the tradition of collage to new heights of richness and complexity. This is the first New York gallery show in over twenty years and the first in-depth presentation of the work since the Whitney s Grand Collage retrospective in 1994.

IMAGO - Animated short

IMAGO - Animated short

from Favorites of netime on October 09, 2006
Duration: 594
Psychology. An often idealized image of a person, usually a parent, formed in childhood and persisting unconsciously into adulthood. All cons that one can have against short films fall as of first images from this superb drawing animated, twelve minutes mixing technical 2d and 3d Fascinating of hack vast screen biographical (a father who as an aviator crashed, its orphan son which one sees growing and aging in a lyric continuum), Imago... is a tour de force . But it is also the brilliant adequacy between the means of animation, the reduced format, a refined chromatic pallet declining the autumn in erudite architectures of brown cathedrals, the direction of the elasticity of the time wasted and found in the same retrospective movement. Remain to know if the system of French production, which has neither Pixar nor Studio Ghibli, can help this kind of talent not to finish as a designer for commercials or an anonymous flunkey for large foreign productions directed by Cedric Babouche
