Yesterday we talked about the basics of the new Sony Reader line, including the $399 behemoth that has a lot of buzz. Today, we talk with Clayton Morris from Fox News, and Ross Rubin from The NPD Group about the lesser known kids, the $199 and $299 Pocket and Touch editions. So far, I'm most impressed with Sony's embrace of open standard ebook formats like ePub, which seems like Sony's new direction. What's your take? Sony unveiled a couple new e-book readers today, and in a startlingly un-Sony-esque fashion, the readers are actually build on an open standard, are semi-affordable and seem like they could be a hit. Gadgetell got to try out the Kindle DX. It's very light and the display is as crisp as the Kindle 2. It's a sleek product. A bit pricey, but may be worth it.

Lezen was niet meer de grote hobby van gadgetgoeroe Vincent Everts. Dat gedoe met zo n boek in je koffer op vakantie en je moet elke keer een bladzijde omslaan. Zo vermoeiend! Vincent Everts vond het maar niks! Maar nu het mogelijk is om digitaal een boek te lezen met een E-book, is hij weer verslaafd aan lezen. En het grote voordeel van zo n digitaal boek is dat het honderden titels kan bevatten. Geen gezeul, je hebt een hele boekenkast bij je in een E-book van zo n 300 gram. Ook steeds meer Nederlandse boeken zijn te koop in E-bookvorm. De openbare bibliotheek in Amsterdam heeft zelfs een hele collectie digitale boeken die je kunt downloaden. Je mag het gedownloade boek 3 weken lezen en daarna verdwijnt het boek vanzelf van jouw E-book. Vincent Everts ziet dat er steeds meer Nederlandse boeken en tijdschriften digitaal verschijnen. Hasta el momento cuando cuando alguien me pedia consejo para comprarse un lector de libros electr nicos no tenia ninguna duda en recomendarle un Sony PRS505, a partir de hoy tras pasar un buen rato trasteando el nuevo modelo PRS 700 empiezo a tener mis dudas.Existe una difer ncia de precio considerable de 150 euros entre ambos modelos, no obstante las mejoras aportadas son muy interesantes y bien valdr a la pena pagar por ellas si realmente las vamos a utilizar.
