It's Much Too-oo Late For Goodbyes
from The Spike Nesmith Rage Machine June 09, 2008
It’s finally over, in time for it all to start all over again. As Hillary scoops the Democratic nomination, Spike talks about…. what? Oh, he did? Obama? Really? B-but six months ago… Hmm. It’s finally over, in time for it all to start all over again. As OBAMA scoops the Democratic nomination, Spike talks about the primary as a whole and looks ahead to five more months of this guff, intensified. Well, at least he’ll have plenty to talk about, right? Questions: What links (never a frown with) Gordon Brown to scary mentalist Derren Brown, other than the name? Why is Google turning into an AOL/MySpace hybrid? How well does Tony Blair know his Bible? Who says Britain’s “moral vacuum” is turning formerly good Christians into Islamic fundamentalists, and why? And how does that relate to the apparently moribund world of local radio? What can stop kids smoking and drinking? Are internet users ruthless and selfish? And what’s WITH that slutty mermaid…? All the answers, and much more, are in these eighty action-packed minutes of Rage. Don’t forget to kee pin touch with comments/complaints/factoids/free porn at SpikeShow.com. Does you Facebook? from Etcetera May 14, 2008
Join me and Mr. Wood on this edition of Etcetera as we talk about changing sexual orientation. No not us! Not that there s anything wrong with that. Use one of the options below to listen. Jumping off of the discussion regarding homosexuals and evangelicals with Michael Spencer on SBE, we pulled out the list of all the other behaviors of non-inheritors of the kingdom of God. You won t find this as a surprise, but some of my junk is on that list. So we talk about that. Here are some links that come up in this show - Love Hurts - My post on quiting drinking again. - The Etcetera Facebook group - The Steve Brown Etc. W.C. Fields in Fatal Glass of Beer DVD: Slapstick Comedy
from Dailymotion - recent videos April 23, 2008
The Fatal Glass of Beer is a riotous short film staring the iconic comedic genius W.C. Fields. This is truly Fields’ first cinematic creation that goes beyond the bounds of ordinary slapstick comedy and transcends Fields’ special brand of humor. Prior to this film, Fields’ was an up and coming stage performer who was clearly a talent but hadn’t broken out yet. The Fatal Glass of Beer is a spoof of the corny melodramas that were saturating theaters in the early thirties. Fields reacted against it with this film, and the results are hilarious. Due to its new level of Fields style comedy, the film was not embraced initially. However, since then fans of Fields have labeled it a masterpiece.
