Chapter Three. I sat in the rain thinking about life. I played with the ring I always had on my left hand. Joe gave it to me on my thirteenth birthday. By now I was probably soaked sitting in the rain and all, but I didn't care. I just sat there, smiling, thinking about my 13th birthday. " N-No Joe!! No J-Joe it h-hurts! S-STOP IT!" I laughed as I tried to get free from Joe. He had me pinned down on my bed and I accidentally kicked him in the stomach and he fell to the side. " Finally" I thought. I turned over to Joe and asked if he was okay. Honestly I thought He kinda deserved it 'cause he woke me up at freakin' 3 AM to tell me it was my birthday. My stupid 13th birthday. I got off my bed and walked over to the light switch and turn my room light on. " So why did you wake me up anyway?" I asked Joe as he sat up on my bed. " You''re a teenager now. You get to be weird for a reason." He replied as I walked out onto my second story balcony. Yes I have a balcony, my parents actually trust me, and I found a rope ladder. " " Wow Joe surprised you didn't fall" I laughed and threw the ladder at Joe. " Actually I did. Three times" Holding up four fingers. " Wow Joe that's four fingers." I said walking back into my room and into my computer chair. " Whoops. So happy birthday Stac." He said standing up and walking over to where I was sitting, and held his arms out for a hug. " Yeah well ya coulda waited until I actually WOKE up!" I felt his heart race as I gave him a hug, that's weird, that's never happened before. "So what do you wanna do then since I'm awake?" I asked Joe which I went into my closet grabbing a Fall Out Boy hoodie and sweats. What? I only wore shorts and a tank while I slept, especially since it's summer, and I was getting cold. " Hmm......Well we'd have to be quiet since your parents don't know I'm here-" " What!??!" I interrupted him. He held up the spare key to my house that we always kept in our garage, which was stupidly enough, manual. " Not that smart of a place to keep a spare key" I laughed as I grabbed the key and went out to the balcony. Joe followed with his rope ladder and hooked it up to my balcony railing. It's actually really sturdy. He went down first and I went down very shortly after him. After he got off, I was about to jump off a few steps too high, and I ended up falling onto of him. We laughed and He gave the "SHHH!" sign. He giggled and we got up and walked over to my sidewalk. It gets cold here in Jersey. Even in the summer. We walked to the park down our road, and climbed up to our usual spot. In the tallest part where you feel like you're in tower. I looked up and say the stars. There were so many tonight, so many I couldn't count them all. I felt the person sitting next to be shuffle around a little, and I looked over and saw Joe holding a small box, and he put it in my hand. I opened the box, and found a silver band ring. I looked over to Joe and he smiled at me. I smiled back. " I..uhh..wanted to g-get you something for y-your birthd-" "Joe I love it." I slipped it on and leaned against Joe for the rest of the night, staring at the stars. I kept thinking about our memories, and how Joe and I were going to be best friends forever. Maybe even more. Surreal Memories Chapter 7 by dreamingfordancing OKAY WE SAW WHAT HAPPENED WITH LAUREN and NICK...............WHATS WITH JOE AND EMILY AND THE REST OF THE PEEPS?!?!??! ( they both give each other a giant bear hug, and Emily's phone rings an she puts it on speaker phone, and while they are talking, they are walking towards Gabby and Kevin, and outside for the taxi) Emily: Hello? Nick: Shes up Joe: Yello Nick Emily: That's great Nick what she say? Nick: she said something about her head hurting, someone pushing her and her falling, and the doctor wanted me to tell you guys that we're at the...hold on ( what hospital are we at? Doctor: st. James Hospital corner of Broad and Main) Nick: we're at the St. James hospital at the corner of Broad and Main Joe: Okay Nick, be careful though,you never know whats at that hospital we don't need the mob tonight so go incongito( AN: idk how to spell that so live with it) ( Emily Joe and Gabby and Kevin get in the taxi, and it goes the Kevin- shotgun seat, Emily is behind the driver, Joe in the middle, and the Gabby behind Kevin) Kevin: corner of Broad and Main ( AN: these arent real hospitals and street names I just made them up) Taxi Driver: Ok Nick: Guys I gotta go Laurens in the hospital now Kevin and Joe and Emily and Gabby: bye / See ya/ Talk to ya later/ bye sweetie/ " both phones hang up" ( the ride to the hospital is very silent except for Joe and Emily, who are sitting next to each other, and Joe is tickling Emily slightly, causing Emily to giggle) Joe: How do ya like that( tickles her) Emily: Joe!! stop it! ( crosses his arms and pouts, Kevin is drumming on his legs trying to amuse himself, and Emily and Gabby are the only ones left talking) Emily: Thanks Joe Gabby: Okay no offense Emily but you've been going out with Nick for 5 months now, and he kinda been a jerk to you for the past month Kevin: Nick? Joe: ohh, so tell me about your boyfriend Emily: well....hes kinda like your brother.....he has the brown curly hair, brown eyes.....plays guitar....great singing voice Joe: I know someone like that Emily: No kidding. But I'm really unsure of Nick right now.... like He went to a party and Gabby spotted him making out with some other girl, but I thought he was going to tell me, but he never did until I called it out.....I think that when I get back home I'm gonna break up with him Joe: wow, okay no offense but I would never do that to you Emily: I know.....'Cause you're the nice....cute.....no wait HOTT.....funny one Joe: haha ( they arrive at the hospital) *SUCH A LONG CHAPTER!!* ( i guess lol) SO WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO LAUREN?
