PORT-AU-PRINCE (April 11, 2009) The Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) is anchored near Port-au-Prince supporting Continuing Promise 2009 (CP09), a humanitarian and civic assistance mission to Latin America and the Caribbean. CP09 combines U.S. military and interagency personnel, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic and partner nations to provide medical, dental, veterinary and engineering services afloat and ashore alongside host nation personnel. Comfort is on a four-month humanitarian and civic assistance mission to Latin America and the Caribbean region.
