By: Zachary Hermann Count Sam Raimi among the people who saw District 9 and thought, "Gee, why can't more studios put out budget-conscious gems like this?" The Spider-Man director will be playing Peter Jackson to his own Neill Blomkamp of sorts, a Uruguayan director by the name of Federico Alvarez. After the buzz around Alvarez's alien invasion short (posted below for your viewing pleasure) Panic Attack! had him making rounds in Los Angeles, Raimi's production shop Ghost House Pictures signed the director for what will be Alvarez's feature film debut. The reports have been translated from Uruguayan newspaper El Paris, but here's what everyone seems to agree on -- the feature, like District 9, will be budgeted in the $30-40 million neighborhood and Raimi will take on a mentor role, thus saving Alvarez from the ugly, business part of things. The picture will shoot in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Montevideo, Uruguay and will likely involve giant robots, which play a big part in Panic Attack! What is unclear is if this feature-length will be based on Panic Attack! at all. Review of District 9 Trailer of the movie: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3896050201/ This movie has an interesting format. It is a fictional movie, yet it appears as if it's a documentary, through out the movie people are being interviewed as if it's a some journalist was doing a story about a real situation. The movie takes place in Johannesburg South Africa. Wikus Van Der Merwe is an agent for a private mercenary company called Multi National United (MNU). He gets promoted a lead position in the company. MNU is contracted by the government to regulate District 9, a section of the city designated for aliens who got stuck on Earth 20 years ago when they came to the planet, and their mother ship stopped working, the movie is not clear as to why that happened. Wikus gets assigned to serve eviction notices to the aliens in District 9. The reason for the eviction is the government is going to move them outside of the city of Johannesburg into a remote location. District 9 is like a straight up slum like you've never seen. The aliens are living off of cat food donated by MNU agents. There are human rights activists groups demonstrating outside of the district to treat the aliens more humanly, there are thugs from Nigeria profiting off the aliens by selling cans of cat food at off the wall prices, or as trade for their weapons, and the head of the of this group is like a king pen, and the whole area looks like it's been hit by a tornado or something, none of the houses are kept up. Wikus gets attacked by one of the aliens as he's serving the eviction notices, and as a result of the attack, he gets splashed with this black liquid he confiscates from one of the aliens that's exclusive to them, that changes his form, he starts turning into one of their species, or a hybrid. He now has to go on the run because when his company found out about him being infected with this virus, they were either going to kill him, or quarantine him permanently. Through out the movie you'll notice him rapidly loosing his Earth Human like features, and becoming more like the alien species. So what's the message of this movie? I can't say for sure, what I do believe is that it's propaganda, possibly a psyop to get people geared up mentally for what the Illuminati might be plotting, and who knows what that might be, probably a false flag operation involving a bioweapon being released in some major cities like Johannesburg, London, New York, and others. The parts you'll want to take notice of: 1. The alien's weaponry only works for them because it's biometrically designed only for them, and when Wikus starts changing his form he's able to use their weaponry. Their weaponry is superior to anything from Earth that's available to the general public. Do the governments of Earth have this type of weaponry? Something to think about. 2. The black liquid that Wikus, and Christian one of the alines from District 9 almost get killed for trying to get, and a small amount, what is this black liquid? You'll have to view the movie to find out. 3. Notice how the alines space craft just hovers over the city of Johannesburg, and does not move, until Christian is able to get it moving. 4. Notice the robot type machine that Wikus is walking in when he's getting hunted by one of the thugs from MNU, and what he's able to do with that machine. Do the governments have this type of techology in real life? What are the implications of it? 5. Take notice of how the MNU thugs treat the aliens (hint) 5. A woman comes on saying welcome to MNU's local alert system, select your species to access the correct section of our website. You click on to different sections of the website, there's an employment opportunities section, about us, past, present, future, etc, you have to select what you species you're a member of on certain pages of the site. This is it's last week showing in theaters in America, if it's still showing in Theaters where you are, I highly recommend seeing this movie, otherwise you'll have to wait to see it on dvd.

Feelings are mixed about The A-Team movie, and Entertainment Tonight's on-set visit doesn't shed a whole lot of light on the plot. Naturally, one of the team members (Bradley Cooper as the old Faceman) and the one lady in the movie (Jessica Biel as Amy Allen) used to date, and there's some undercurrent of drama between them. Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, who is taking over Mr. T's star-making role as Bosco Baracus, does sport the Mr. T hairdo (I pity the fool who calls it a hairdon't) but claims there will be "more muscle, less gold." And Bradley Cooper gives us some diet tips. "No salt or sugar. That's been greeaaat. I just eat what they put in front of me, but it's a lot of, like, boiled chicken and brown rice and broccoli." I'm going to go eat a hamburger in his honor. Two stand-out people they didn't talk to include Liam Neeson and District 9's breakout star Sharlto Copley. I'm very curious to see if Copley can parlay his first role in a big-budget US movie into stardom. I hope so, because I thought he rocked in District 9, as anyone who has ever heard me screech "PRAWNS!!!" in a restaurant can attest. Did this video make you any more or less excited about the movie?
