William Roberts, connu sous le nom de Rick Ross, né le 26 janvier 1977, originaire de Floride, est un rappeur américain d'origine haïtienne, qui s'est fait connaître du grand public grâce à son single Hustlin'. Son pseudo Ross est tiré d'un des plus importants trafiquant de cocaïne américain pendant les années 80.William Roberts signe son premier contrat avec un gros label en 2002 chez Slip-N-Slide Records, une filiale de Def Jam Recordings. Son premier album, Port of Miami sort le 8 août 2006. Le single Hustlin' atteindra la 54e place du Billboard américain , obtiendra un disque de platine et l'album sera certifié Disque d'or.Une compilation des pistes non-retenues de l'album sort le 18 septembre 2007 sous le titre Rise To Power, distribuée par le label Suave House, qui fut le premier label à signer Rick Ross, mais qui faute de moyens ne put distribuer son premier album.Son second album, intitulé Trilla en référence à Thriller de Michael Jackson sort le 11 mars 2008. Speedin en featuring avec R. Kelly est le premier extrait de l'album. The Boss en featuring avec T-Pain est le second single.Son troisieme album solo sera Deeper than rap qui sortira le 21 avril 2009.Le premier extrait Mafia music tourne sur internet et Rick Ross lance quelques mots à 50 Cent.Rick Ross est aussi en pleine préparation d'un album avec Birdman, l'album se nommerait H . Mais ils ont très peu communiqué sur ce projet pour le moment, des artistes tel que Lil Wayne ou Fat Joe pourraient être au rendez-vous .
