The Secretary General of Amnesty International is in the country this week. Irene Khan has visited the remote communities of Utopia in the Northern Territory, and yesterday in Canberra she launched a new book called The Unheard Truth: Poverty and Human Rights.

Scientist Joe Kaplinsky takes a critical look at IVF and overblown fears that a new generation of designer babies may be on the cards. Kaplinsky shows that these procedures, far from creating a society that will discriminate against the disabled or girls, will allow couples to avoid having children with life-threatening conditions and save others. We should chill out about designer babies and leave the decision to the parents, says Kaplinsky.

This Hey Arnold fanvid took such a long time to make so I hope everyone who watches it enjoys it. :) Windows Movie Maker froze up more while making this video than while making any of my other videos. If it does that when I decide to make a new video than I may just have to switch over to a different editing/movie making program. I don't know alot about those types of programs so we'll see, lol. Despite the difficulties, I think this one turned out the way I wanted. :) I focused this one on the four main Hey Arnold girls in the series: Helga, Rhonda, Phoebe and Lila...though some of the other kids are scattered throughout as well. The themes are the friendships and rivalries between these four plus how each of the girls is willing to generally stand up for what she believes in in her own way. I thought this song was perfect for illustrating this very concept.
