How is New Orleans rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina? In this keynote presentation at the Social Enterprise Alliance 2009 Summit sponsored by the Stanford Center for Social Innovation, Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu stresses the role of tourism in the city s rehabilitation. He details his work to found the nation s first government-run Office of Social Entrepreneurship, and emphasizes how New Orleans and the entire state are being strengthened by the development of their cultural assets.

This video shows the construction details on the plywood hexayurt that we built at the Engineers Without Borders / Practical Action "Small is..." festival. It's really a fairly simple design. I want to do another one which shows much more of the construction process and detailing - how the boards are lapped in more detail, the way the walls are lapped, and the construction process. But if you are familiar with the Hexayurt (http://hexayurt.com), this is how you make one in plywood.
