Last night, the U.S. Global Leadership Campaign honored Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates at its annual Tribute Dinner. Secretary Rice, Members of Congress, senior Administration officials, and over 700 business and NGO members of the USGLC recognized Secretary Gates for his leadership in support of the U.S. International Affairs Budget. In his speech, Secretary Gates emphasized, "Broadly speaking, when it comes to America's engagement with the rest of the world, it is important that the military is - and is clearly seen to be - in a supporting role to civilian agencies."

The conflict I served in was a War of Choice built on lies with the lies continuing, even to today, and just one of the many results was returning military suffering from results of Defoliant Spraying which Government, Producers of, and the Public Denied it had adverse effects. Vietnamesse and Soldiers are still suffering the effects and this Country still Denies! How many of you pay attention to the results of the first gulf war, Gulf War Syndrom, and the thousands of Veterans, and their families, suffering from the effects of?

It's been seen as a revolutionary way to help companies stay on top of multimillion dollar order shipments and track components from the manufacturer all the way to the retailer. Listen to the episode Today's guests include Dr. Jason Baird and Braden Lusk. Baird and his team of researchers are developing the technology necessary to make buildings blast-resistant. In a related project with Kontek, they have created steel-reinforced concrete barriers that link to form a barricade that can resist a 200-pound trinitrotoluene (TNT) blast, followed by the impact of a 20,000-pound truck traveling at 50 miles per hour, says Baird. Using this technology, Baird and his colleagues are integrating concepts used to develop the blast-resistant barriers into the actual design and architecture of a building, bridge, monument or other structure.
