OK so this was my first and probably last fan trailer. I really wanted to make this cos this book struck a cord in me, and I can't ever imagine it working as a movie, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to imagine my own trailer. First, please note that I absolutely DESPISE working with text, it's something I've never gotten a good grasp on in Sony Vegas, so I avoided it like the plague. Thus, this trailer is audio-driven. I tried to actually portray scenes discussed by Hannah from the book as much as possible. 0:54 - 0:58 is my favourite example of that, with the rape that Hannah witnesses from the closet. I'm pretty pleased with my casting for Clay and Hannah. Thomas Dekker is a very good emotional actor and would pull that off easy. And IMO there's nothing Kristen Bell can't do. xD And she's proven to be quite adapt with voice-acting (Gossip Girl). Not to mention the girl who does Hannah's tapes that I got from YouTube sounds eerily like Kristen, haha. I posted my whole cast list above because although quite a few characters aren't shown in the trailer, I wanted to show that I did plot out who would play what and thought did go into how this trailer would work. I started it a week or two back and I never work on videos that long. xD Trailers are sooo much harder!! haha Anyway, I hope you enjoy the trailer, whether you've read the book or not. If you have, I hope you can appreciate it for what it is.
