They say that the truth will set you free. After I admitted to God and to another person the exact nature of my defects, my life has never been the same. Even after repeated attempts and going back out to the street, I still could not escape the truth. I knew what was going to happen when I went back out. I knew that I would pick right back up from where I left off. I knew that some moral boundaries that I had already crossed would be crossed again even further. I could not fool myself into thinking that I was going to come up this time. I had to commit completely if I was ever going to live and be free. And I could only do that with God s help. There was no other way around it.I found out about the manifestation of Self. Self is what some people call Ego. I found out that Self manifested into five basic defects of character: selfishness, dishonesty, inconsideration, self-seeking and fear. All other defects could be broken back down into any of these five. For instance, procrastination was just another form of selfishness. It is just me doing what I want to do.And of course, there was always my favorite line. Who cares? This was just an excuse to do what I wanted to do. Above all, it was the most dishonest line of all. After so many months of using drugs, I would always hit a spiritual bottom and then I would care. When I asked God to remove these defects from me they did not poof, disappear. At first they will be revealed. Then, it is up to me to take the action.God will do for us what we cannot do for ourselves . but He will not do what we can.

PHOCOMELIA DUE TO THALIDOMIDE. This patient with PHOCOMELIA is a performer at Venice Beach, California. His defective development of arms and legs (resembling a seals flippers) resulted from his mother taking THALIDOMIDE during pregnancy for its sedative side effects and/or to treat morning sickness. Thalidomide, because of its severe and life threatening birth defects, when taken by pregnant women is only available to specially licensed physicians who understand the risks associated with the drug. According to the FDA, Thalidomide was first marketed in Europe in the late 1950s. It was used as a sleeping pill and to treat morning sickness. At that time no one knew thalidomide caused birth defects. The FDA has issued a warning for male patients. You must abstain from sexual intercourse or use a condom during intercourse while, and for one month after taking Thalidomide. It is not known if thalidomide is present in male ejaculate (semen). The FDA approved Thalidomide to treat Multiple Myeloma on May 26, 2006. Please do not buy Thalidomide over the Internet. In conclusion, pregnant patients must be advised about the risks associated with any drug according to the FDAs guidelines. The table below was obtained from the FDA and physicians and patients are encouraged to check for any updates through the FDA. Current Categories for Drug Use in Pregnancy Category Description A Adequate, well-controlled studies in pregnant women have Not shown an increased risk of fetal abnormalities. B Animal studies have revealed no evidence of harm to the Fetus, however, there are no adequate and well-controlled Studies in pregnant women. Or Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but Adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant Women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus. C Animal studies have shown an adverse effect and there are No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Or No animal studies have been conducted and there are No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. D Studies, adequate well-controlled or observational, in Pregnant women have demonstrated a risk to the fetus. However, the benefits of therapy may outweigh the Potential risk. X Studies, adequate well-controlled or observational, in Animals or pregnant women have demonstrated Positive evidence of fetal abnormalities. The use of The product is contraindicated in women who are or may Become pregnant. This information is readily available, for free, through the FDA at http://www.fda.gov/fdac Patients and medical providers can access the FDAs site for specific drugs and their safety in pregnancy. Medical providers and consumers should know that the FDA can also readily provide them with written information about a specific drug. At present I am investigating the preposterous claims made by the maker of Levalbuterol (Xonepex), Sepracor Inc. According to The Medical Letter, Levalbuterol is not superior to Albuterol racemic, which is inexpensive and available as generic. In a letter from the FDA to Sepracor Inc., dated March 26, 1999, it reads, We have determined that Sepracor Inc. in its press release makes unsubstantiated and misleading promotional claims that are inconsistent with the approved product labeling, overstate the safety and efficacy of Xopenex, or otherwise lack fair balance. Therefore, Xopenex Inc.s press release violates the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and its implementing regulations. Drug makers are more about reinventing the wheel or making more of what already exists and much less about innovation in Medicine. For every five medical providers, the drug makers have one drug representative. Instead of wasting their time with drug representatives, medical providers should donate the time to the poor and seek true knowledge from unbiased sources like I do. It was the patient that educated me; it was the public who paid for my education. It is society that deserves my unwavering commitment to make sure that all Americans have accessible and affordable health care without bankrupting American companies or Union Healthcare Benefits. Diseases and sicknesses of all kinds are gaining ground in Iraq. Activists, doctors, and the media are quick to discuss the potential ramifications of Depleted Uranium, which many argue is still highly radioactive after use. There are many other diseases, some commonplace, such as dysentery and typhoid which were virtually unheard of in Iraq before the Gulf War in 1991, but under the sanctions and instability of the current war, have greatly increased. The prevalence of these and other diseases is rarely discussed in the press or at antiwar rallies. The collapse of Iraq's infrastructure, as well as the exodus of doctors from the country, has further exacerbated Iraq's medical difficulties. This after instability caused by the invasion prevented many children from obtaining their regular cancer treatments, necessary to retard further growth of the cancer. Alive in Baghdad has produced several shows examining these difficulties. Although primarily focused on the potential impact of depleted uranium, particularly in children, we have also interviewed a doctor, medical students, and a father whose daughter has a strange and unexplained illness. We plan to continue looking at these stories and other issues under-represented in the press. Please consider making a donation to continue our work, and feel free to suggest story ideas or submit any questions this or other shows may raise. There are some valuable resources for researching issues of a medical nature in Iraq. We suggest you check these outlets for more information: IRIN, the UN's humanitarian news and analysis service The Lancet British Medical Journal BBC News' Middle East reporting For general in-depth reporting on Iraq please check out the insightful Institute for War and Peace Reporting's Iraq Crisis Report.
