David Suzuki: The Big Picture

Award winning geneticist, writer and broadcaster Dr. David Suzuki says it's a mistake to rely on science alone to explain everything about our world. He says scientific research can be intensely focused, but often misses the big picture of interconnections in nature. He looks at the impact of human behavior on the environment in his latest book, a collection of essays called The Big Picture: Reflections on Science, Humanity, and a Quickly Changing Planet. David Suzuki is co founder of the David Suzuki Foundation for environmental sustainability and longtime host of Canadian TV's The Nature of Things. In 2006, he was awarded Canada's highest civilian honor for his work. He spoke at Seattle's Town Hall on April 7, 2009.
