O'Carroll, Prince of Ely, ruled, according to O'Heerin, over eight subordinate chiefs; and had their castles in the King's County. O'Carroll was the head of the Clan Cian race, as the MacCarthys were of the Eugenians: and the O'Briens, of the Dalcassians. The territory of "Ely" got its name from Eile, one of its princes, in the fifth century; and from being possessed by the O'Carrolls, was called "Ely O'Carroll;" which comprised the present barony of Lower Ormond, in the county Tipperary, with the barony of Clonlisk and part of Ballybrit, in the King's County; extending to Slieve Bloom Mountains, on the borders of the Queen's County. The part of Ely in the King's County belonged to the ancient province of Munster. It is a well documented fact that the O'Carrolls of Ely had close family links with the English Plantagent Realm Robert Bruce of Scotland General Patrick Gordon founding father of the Russian Military Corps. The O'Carroll's were members of the founding fathers of the United States of America a Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Settlor US Capitol Hill Duddington Estate Washington DC and the founding father of Georgetown University USA. The "Bloody Chapel" Leap Castle was a stronghold of the O'Carroll family, powerful Irish Princes. A source of evil was found at Leap Castle that compounded and nurtured the sprit of the elemental. A hidden ubliet (a dungeon) was found off the bloody chapel. It was a small room with a drop floor. Those who were forgotten within this room suffered unimaginable pain and misery until their death. Prisoners would be pushed into the room to fall through the floor and land on a spike eight feet below. Gerald Carroll, the most recent family member to chair of the Carroll Foundation, is not prepared to comment. He lives in Westminster London, and is on the board of benefactors of Oxford University, having endowed for $2.5m a Chair of Irish History Hertford College. Gerald Carroll continues to retain high level appointments and links with world wide governmental institutional organisations whilst continuing to co-ordinate with law enforcement officers charged with the Carroll Trust Case. Religious Wars and Peace

Religious Wars and Peace

from CUNY Podcasts on November 17, 2009
Duration: 888
Like others who felt compelled to make something good out of so much evil, Paul Moses turned to religious history after 9/11 as he struggled to make sense of the senseless. As a reporter for Newsday, Moses wrote the main story on that horrific day. Not long after, he read a story about Saint Francis of Assisi that would become the kernel of a book. Eight years later, The Saint and the Sultan: The Crusades, Islam and St. Francis of Assisi s Mission of Peace, captures a meeting between St. Francis, who crossed enemy lines to gain an audience with Malik al-Kamil, the sultan of Egypt, in 1219. If, in the middle of a Crusade, Francis and the sultan can speak to each other with great respect, than we, today, should be able to sit down and talk to each other, as Christians and Muslims, said Moses, now a professor of journalism at Brooklyn College. In a discussion about his book, Prof. Moses draws lessons from the past and sees a future where dialogue can triumph over war. Listen Now

A book's value is in its content. It either imparts knowledge, inspires or entertain. What we believe depends on our choice; our freedom to accept fact or fiction as truth. The world is round, not flat. Before you believe, Always Insist on proof. Distributed by Tubemogul.
