'Lullaby: The UNICEF Anthem' is a new composition by UNICEF Canada Ambassador Steve Barakatt. The Anthem was composed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Produced in collaboration with other UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, musicians and video artists from around the globe, Lullaby is dedicated to the world's children and the realization of their rights. Mr. Barakatt also directed this music video featuring stirring images from UNICEF's photography archive. www.unicef.org/rightsite Mariatu Kamara is UNICEF Canadas Special Representative for Children in Armed Conflict and is also the founder of the Mariatu Foundation, which seeks to provide refuge and healing for women and children in her native Sierra Leone.Ms. Kamara is a survivor of the civil conflict in Sierra Leone. At age 12, she was taken captive by rebel soldiers who cut off both her hands. This ordeal was followed by three years in a refugee camp. Ms. Kamara fled her native country in 2002 and received asylum in Canada. Since then, Ms. Kamara has worked with both UNICEF and the North American NGO Free the Children to promote child rights and decry the impact of war on children. As a UNICEF Canada representative, she has visited programmes in Sierra Leone. She recently won the Voices of Courage Award from the Women's Refugee Commission.

www.unicef.org/rightsite World renowned and popular Latin singer Ricky Martin, a passionate defender of childrens rights, was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2003. Ricky Martin first became associated with UNICEF in 1984 as a member of Menudo, which supported UNICEFs work. In his role as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Ricky Martin has supported UNICEFs efforts in fighting for childrens rights, especially in the area of child trafficking. Mr. Martin made an appeal to the United Nations in October 2004 for international help to fight sex tourism as part of an international panel of philanthropists dedicated to the education and prevention of child trafficking. He did extensive media work on behalf of UNICEF following his visit to Thailands tsunami-stricken areas in January 2005. In his commitment to fight child abuse, he travelled to Dar Al-Amman, Jordan in July 2005 where he visited the first Child Safety Center in the Arab region.
