Conflict at the Court, Part 1
from me on blip.tv (beta) August 12, 2008
Michigan Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth A. Weaver discusses with producer Dr. David Schock the ramifications of actions at the court, including justices signing on to opinions before legal arguments are heard. As well, there is a history of antagonism betwen the majority of four and the other three, a division that is not strictly along party lines. justice Weaver has found herself on the outs and has even been the target of a gag order, something that flies directly in the face of her Constitutional duties.

TPMtv: A Chat with Dahlia Lithwick
from Veracifier August 06, 2008
Your Daily Politics Video Blog: At Netroots Nation down in Austin two weeks ago, TPMtv caught up with Slate's Dahlia Lithwick and picked her brain about just what post-Bush accountability means. Is it really all or nothing? Sweep it under the rug versus Nuremberg trials, or are there a lot more grey areas in just how we pick up the pieces? That, and what might be in store for the Supreme Court under a President McCain.

Sexual Misconduct Charges and School Employees
from The Conversation Podcast August 01, 2008
Yesterday the state Supreme Court decided that schools do not have to release the names of employees investigated for sexual misconduct. The Seattle Times sought those names from 10 area school districts. The newspaper and others in the news media say the school districts can't be trusted to protect kids. They lost the case. What it boils down to is this: Do you believe schools are doing an adequate job of investigating sexual misconduct allegations? Would you like to know more about how they do those investigations? Do you fear releasing the names of the accused would irreparably harm innocent people?
