The Sleuth 3D to 2D Matte from Rob MacBride - Boilingman TV on Vimeo. The Sleuth was a contract job which involved the translation of a 2D drawing into 3D. I was given original art from the Sleuth merchandise, which is sold mostly through K-Marts and is the mascot for a line of quiz/puzzle books and other kids paraphernalia such as stickers, pencil cases etc. The model was adapted and built in Maya, once complete i imported the model into Poser 7, and after some quick learning was able to bone & rig the model so as to be poseable. The contractor now uses the Sleuth model for striking and rendering new poses to be printed onto the products, as opposed to redrawing him every single time a new one is desired. This particular reel outlines my extended compositing work on the magazine cover image, post 3D. Cast: Rob MacBride - Boilingman TV
