SomaCow 368: Getting Manlier As They Go

SomaCow 368: Getting Manlier As They Go

from SomaCow on August 26, 2009
Duration: 3516
Originally cleaned up at SomaCow.com Hi all, it s Jen. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you who supported our Cure fo no wait, I promised I d drop the topic until Friday s live show. So episode 368! So in the next couple weeks, one of my jobs is on vacation so I find myself with some extra time possibly. In my head, I already have a list of things around the house I want to do to catch up on things. Get the rooms cleaned up and organized, start cleaning out The Martini Room to make the move to Studio G easier, go swimming but I have to admit it helps when I have someone else here with me (mom!) to get me all pumped. Otherwise the swimming wins out. After I had Rowan, I found myself looking for non-court room drama television. I searched around the home improvement channels and stumbled about and saw my girl, Niecy Nash from Reno 911 with a big flower in her hair. I thought maybe they were doing something to her home but lo and behold she was the host of a show! Clean House is all about getting stuff out of a couple rooms, selling it, and then using that money to renovate. I loved it and watched it every day. I have to admit, I was a little surprised when I heard the guys talking about it in this episode. Who knew they watched such girly shows! Oh, wait OK, so I wasn t that surprised. They also talked about neighbor s garage sales. Do you go buy your neighbor s stuff? We had neighbors that, no joke, had a garage sale every weekend for at least 2 months. I finally went over and bought a stop light for Geoff and a DVD for me. Thought it was the neighborly thing to do. But, having hosted a few garage sales myself, sometimes you put crap out there and I d hate to see my friends buy crap. Then the guys went onto a little more manly topic, comics. Oh wait, this is not those kind of comics like Gary and Felix talk about on their shows. This is more like the strips in the paper. Eh, still manlier. Have you seen the Garfield minus Garfield comics on the interwebs? Check it out if not, they are pretty damn funny Crap, found myself looking at them! Back to the task at hand. So speaking of comics, Geoff and Mickey are pretty big Calvin ve been around for a while, but where did they start and why do people still have them? When did Calvin go around pissing on things? Moving into a more manly topic, mainly the Maawwoooawwn segment (oh, I see what they re doing here, start off fem and move on up), Geoff shook hands with a black man and together they helped a woman in distress. I sat in the car and ate my Steak n Shake. I m going to have to go back and listen to the episode myself as I don t recall what the other guy/man/dudes did this week. Check it out! And while I m at it, join me live tonight for ComaSow! (assuming you are reading this on the day it is posted). Hey, it s a perk of writing the blog, right?

SomaCow 317: Three Point One Four etc.

SomaCow 317: Three Point One Four etc.

Originally posted at SomaCow.com Brought to you by the Great American Pie Festival of 2009 (2009). We went, and it was pie! In this hour, we discussed failing Inspection, Diet and Anger, The Pie Fest, and we thank you guys for downloading the show - I sincerely appreciate it! So, we hit the Great American Pie Festival, and I am sure you think Geoff ate the whole thing . I, sadly, did not, opting for a piece of no sugar added blackberry (which still rings in around 350 calories, but is nowhere near what I could have done). I went for a nice long walk with the wife, gave our daughter her first sunburn in the process (yeah, I ll yell at her on ComaSow, maybe), and got to hang out with Mickey and His Girl. It was a lot of fun, and my wife won Rowan a penguin and a cow. And ate 9 pies. And corn. And stroganoff? Weird. The event was down by Disney, in a town I hadn t really spent much time in yet. Those of you that do not live in Orlando may have heard of the community of  Celebration, Florida. It gets a bad rap on the web, with whispers of too-cute cookie cutter houses hiding a tendency to gloss over crime, danger, civil safety, humanity, you name it. I think Celebration gets a bad rap. The people are weird, but EVERY person on the street said hi to us. The houses are cookie cutter, but nobody had a goddamned hoop-rod rusting out on blocks in the street or on their yard. The dogs were everywhere, the chicks were everywhere, and there were restaurants and shops and good food and very little cigarette butts (except mine), and nice trees and It was Nice. Whatever evil they are hiding, no matter how few persons of we saw, at least it s clean. That s a bit more than I can say about some neighborhoods. I won t sit here and pretend that a part of me was not dying inside when they called for contestants in the pie eating contest and I did not spring into action. Maybe when I get under 300 lbs, I will allow myself something like that once in a while, but for now, it s sensible, rigid, and determined. Sort of like J trying on a pair of pants! Except not that rigid. Hope you enjoy, and vote for SomaCow!

SomaCow 310: Fat Girls Are The Huggiest

SomaCow 310: Fat Girls Are The Huggiest

from SomaCow on April 13, 2009
Duration: 3792
SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you by  ComaSow. The boys of SomaCow might think that there is no new music out there, but we at ComaSow know that is not true! See for yourself. I do agree with them that not much new is coming out though. So many bands sound like others or are throw backs to past decades. Great bands are hard to come by which got the chatroom talking about first concerts and best concerts. I think I would love to see Billy Joel and Elton John together as Jen Cook did. My first concert was 7 Seconds unless you count Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith.  What was your first? What was your favorite? My favorite is They Might Be Giants but only because I know and love every song. When it comes to big shows I guess I d have to say REM. Anyway, this wasn t all the guys talked about. They also got on a long topic of how fat girls give the best hugs. It s not just the squishiness factor, but I guess something in their hug is just special? I don t know, I ve never noticed a difference. But as a fat girl (but getting less fat), I have noticed I can t stand hugging skinny guys! I feel like I m going to break them. So I ll have to apologize for this being so short but we have spent every waking moment (even waking up early) working on Studio G and I am pooped! Geoff is already in bed and it s not even 10 PM! If you want to see how Studio G is coming, check out the updates at our forum. The direct thread is here but I recommend you join us and the discussion! Bring up any topic you d like or join in on one already made. (Don t forget you get 7 points for signing up!)

SomaCow 309: Calf Call

SomaCow 309: Calf Call

from SomaCow on April 10, 2009
Duration: 3932
SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you in this hour by green beans. They are delicious. In this hour, I rant a rave about a sickening television trend on TLC, we review GlutenFree Books, and we unveil a brilliant idea for a new Theme Park. I really cannot say enough negative about parents who enter their children in beauty pageants. But I will try. Look, everyone wants to live forever. Everyone wishes they had studied harder, or practiced kicking farther, or played more (or less) cello, or kissed that one girl, or not punched that cop in the stomach and run out of the Kmart with his handgun waving it randomly at passers-by, but we all made the choices we made. LIVE with them. Help your child avoid pitfalls, but not at the sacrifice of their childhood. No one cares what you thought you could be, and odds are pretty good your kid will fail too. It s in their genes. Daughters, especially, have a whole lifetime to realize that women are judged by their breasts, their hair, their waist size, their teeth, their shoes, their underwear, their nail color, their earrings, and, sometimes, their mind. Why expose them to that truth this early and crush any hope of a day without judgment? I guess what bothers me so much about Child-Beauty-Talent-Show-Moms is that they are universally loathsome to look at and listen to. Fat, swollen mounds of badflesh, sitting and stewing in their spandex, laboriously flexing their leathery, Jabba-like tongues in anticipation of a win. Frail, emaciated bags of sticks, hawkish and severe as they pinch their kids cheeks, desperately seeking mirth via force. Dead-eyed, fish-bellied, and horrific in every way. And the kids themselves? Precocious was passed, long, long ago. These big haired, over-makeupped preschoolers were doomed from the uterus. Hey Geoff? I m a woman and a mom, let me step in here. Thanks. Hi guys! It s Jen from ComaSow. I can only imagine what these moms are going through.  Yeah, I mean that, I would have to have a huge imagination to understand them! I am not a girly girl, most of you know that. I thought I always wanted a son, and when I was pregnant I thought about why. Most of my girlfriends said they wanted girls so they could go shopping and play. I realized that was exactly why I didn t want a girl, I wasn t looking for a shopping buddy, I was looking for a child, and boys seemed cooler. When I found out I was having a girl, while ecstatic, I went through a lot of fear and wonder about how she ll look-will she be too pretty? not pretty enough? and right there I realized I was worried about her looks! So I ve stopped that. I let her hair fall in her eyes, I let her wear hand-me-down boy clothes, I don t make her socks match her outfit. I m not saying my daughter shouldn t look good, but these moms mentioned above scare the living crap out of me! Now, I ve never liked pageants so I wasn t afraid that I would become one of those moms, but I didn t even want to come close to it so maybe I m leaning far over the other way. I know that as a mom, you want your child to have all you didn t, but that doesn t mean you want them to live out YOUR dreams. My mom wanted me to have the perfect wedding she couldn t have, but it crossed over into her trying to plan what SHE wanted, not what I wanted. Thankfully, I was a 31 year old woman who could recognize this and stop it. Unfortunately, a child, hell even someone in their early 20s possibly, does not have that ability. Oh I get so angry! It is so obvious these children are just doing what they think will make their parents happy, not what makes them happy. Do you know many/any 22 year old women who have NEVER been in a pageant and suddenly just want to? No? Not me, either. They all were in some pretty baby shit or little Miss Bartow parade. So what makes me so mad? It s the fact that these girls are taught that they have to wear makeup, frilly dresses that are way too short, hair up, and do way too seductive looking poses! It s sick! They should be out playing, not spinning so judges can see their backsides! And they get it in their mind that they must always dress up, and cover up their face with paint, and show legs, and perform for others, and now they are obsessive about their looks for the rest of their lives. Or maybe they rebel, get fat, have zits, and then regret that they didn t stay with pageants and force THEIR daughters into them! Ok, I have gone on long enough. This isn t a rant episode, but as Geoff was writing this and talking to me about it I just had to get it all out. So what do you all think? Say it. I can take it, I ain t some pageant girl woos.

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you in this hour by twitter.com/comasowjen. She does a lot around here, and only gets credit for the mistakes and mishaps. We apologize for that. In this hour, we take time out to apologize to our listeners, each other, society at large, puppies great and small, heteros, and any gypsies we may have misaligned. It isn t really our fault, we re just large that way. J s Newsbomb picked up a sponsor! Foofa s ermm . two way petting zoo? Okay, maybe that was a lark, but I hear tell next week the Newsbomb will be sponsored by twitter.com/ihateelross? Jesus! I guess we can make our fortune off of listener vendettas Why not? We have a lot to be sorry for, between blathering about points (oh! That reminds me! March s giveaway is in just a few days, so if you are going to make the cut and win the $50.00 from Amazon, you might want to get to it asap, pdq, rtfn, etc.) to dodging Ross s tale about his dead aunt. I know we will find a way to fit it in this week, Ross, I promise! If you know of a way Mickey can apologize to our listeners for his purporting of a false rumor regarding gasoline prices, please let me know at moo@somacow.com - I know he does not want to pump gas in a puffy paint shirt. Maybe he can just clean windshields, or install extra ram, or blow on soup to cool it for you guys. Just say the word, cause Lord knows we aims to please. Our new forum is swollen with members, 50 joined on last week, so if you want to discuss topics we talk about here, or your own individual unground axes, swing by and log in and get wordy with it. I look forward to hearing from you, and really appreciate everyone that has joined up already. Thanks!

SomaCow 296: Prepare For The SomaCowlypse

SomaCow 296: Prepare For The SomaCowlypse

from SomaCow on March 11, 2009
Duration: 3621
SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you by Jenga (you ll see why). In this episode, the guys talk about the apocalypse, the economy, and beer. God I love the range! So leave it to SomaCow to bring up the doom and gloom again. Maybe they just want us all to really be prepared when the apocalypse comes but has anyone done anything and can you really be prepared? Geoff has a flamethrower, that s good I guess. The guys discuss the economic bailout and its failure. I have to ask here how can something fail when it s just been implemented? Don t we need to see if it works first? Well, they all have their own ideas on how to fix the economy, from Mexicans buying homes to Indians building roads to legalization and taxing of certain forbiddens to chastity belts. Hey, you never know. Ross just thinks the government should hand out money to Americans. From here the topic went straight to stoner chat, wonder why ha! Just kidding Ross. It actually went there from the legalization topic but see how I juxtoposed that sentence there? Anyway. Jen Cook, one of our favorite new listeners, held a 40 party once where everyone had to bring a 40 and exchange it blindly and drink it? I m going to have to hear more about this from her during the next episode s live recording. Mickey and J have a knock down drag out fight, well, a verbal discussion, on who is a better concert dad. I d love to see the two of them fight it out over the better concert dad wouldn t you? And have you been to a concert lately? Geoff and I went all the time until Rowan was born (even 8 months pregnant!). I was a total concert whore back in the day-even have a whole suitcase full of concert t-shirts I have no clue what to do with. But it s so expensive lately! It s driving people to listen to go to smaller shows like those of bands we play on ComaSow. Visit us there or live every Wednesday from 8 PM until ? depending on our mood. (Hey, I m writing it, I get to spam).

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you in this hour by ComaSow! If you want to hear some tracks off the new MC Lars album, they can hook you up. Well, we. It s all part of what gets done here by myself, Mickey, Jennifer, J, Ross, Felix, Gary, CR, Brian, and Nova. We re happy that you spend time with us, and hope you enjoy what we do. So, in this hour, we discussed Women, Wingmen, and Truckers? Yes. Truckers. We re versatile like that. We had Iceman, who joins us in this hour once more, kick the pig. Wow. That was Audio. First off - Chicks, Man. An interesting concept I stumbled upon recently - Who was your TV chick? The woman you grew up with on television, and as you each aged separatelt, you carried her with you. It s a weird concept, but as we consume media over an entire life, I realized that I had some pretty shoddy selections. Mickey fared a bit better, and J landed some sweet Patty Duke action. Talking bout Chicks, Man led us to talking about dating, and Wingmen, and Old Flames, and Spacebook and MyFace and looking people up from the long long ago in the way back. It s a winding circuitous ride, and we somehow end up talking about Ross s shorts. I really need to work on driving the topic bus, don t I? We rounded out the hour with some Trucker talk, mainly - Trucker Etiquette. Do YOU know the rules of the road? Are you SURE? Don t be caught unawares, as Mickey and I, with the of J, provide you with the must have need to know gotta have it Pokemon info.

SomaCow 278: Nothing Like Sharing Some Germs

from SomaCow on January 28, 2009
Duration: 3566
SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you this week by Tylenol in all its forms. In this, our middle hour, we discussed the germs that Mickey brought into the studio. Now we can t blame him for sure on our current situation (read 3 people hopped up on Tylenol and Nyquil alternating between hot and cold). I mean Brian from JPP came in sick, The Sports Buzz s Ryan had a sniffle Felix might have had a virus Speaking of viri, we seem to have had one infect the studio. How do we find out where it came from? Luckily it was easy to get rid of but what a pain, still! So here we sit, snot rags all around, blankets covering our naked bodies because it will just get hot again soon, but hey, we aren t eating so 1000 pound challenge here we come! In fact I m starting to get a little hungry but the only thing in our fridge is the Velvet Duck we  had the other night. Holy crap! Maybe we have Avian Bird Flu from the Velvet Duck! (That s Geoff current theory at least-yeah, feverish) You all stay healthy so you can join us for ComaSow live Wednesday! SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you in this hour by delicious Velvet Duck. It sure is good. In this hour, we discussed our respective takes on the inauguration (it s mostly painless, I promise), Just what was Peter Frampton doing to his guitar back then, America finally getting on the stem cell bandwagon, and the closing of Circuit City. That really was a good speech by President Obama. I d be interested to see if it will be as retold as The Gettysburg Address or Mel Gibson s Braveheart or Conan s Prayer. Nothing really stands up against Conan s Prayer, though Except maybe Conan s run-down of what is best in life. Oh, or my typical order at an Arby s That is a pretty breathtaking thing in and of itself. I dig the classic rock, but I can never understand why they play that Frampton Do You Feel Like I Do crap so often. Classic Rock by definition now spans the 60s to the late 90s, why am I hearing this dude gargle-suck his Gibson 8 times a day?  Thank god I only listen to SomaCow bands and ComaSow Radio Shows, or I would be all types of pissed! Stem Cells = Big Yay, and about time Circuit City closing = Big Boo for the following reason: Now there is nothing left to threaten the Punk Ass Bitch Manager working at Best Buy with. Used to be, if you waited too long, or got some flack, you could just drop the Big Red Plug and walk out the door, huffy and splendid in your knowledge that, after 1.8 seconds, the Best Buy buffoon would realize that he lost a customer and grieve by ruining three other customers respective days. Now, it s BB or the internets. Or HHHHGGRREEGGGG or whatever. Anyone been there yet? Good luck, y all. New Egg is nice, but how the hell do you get a fridge shipped from Ontario?

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you this week by SomaCow.net. Normally I would take this time to tell you about the topics the guys talked about but they are sort of varied this episode, everything from food (congratulations to our listeners who are actually losing weight in the 1000 pound challenge and not trying to sabotage it, J ), Mickey cluing us in to the Sunrise Diner, and planets. But I know you ll listen no matter what I write here, and we thank you for that. Now if you can do us a favor and check out the other shows on the network! We love seeing members of The Heard (join our facebook group if you haven t already) in each of the other shows each week and want even more! Of course you know you can find these all live at ustream.tv each week! Starting on Fridays with the flagship show, SomaCow is live every Friday from 7-10 PM Eastern. SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow brought to you by ComaSow back and better than ever! In this, their finest hour, the guys talked about mash-ups, kids books, and food (surprise surprise!) So Geoff doesn t like mash-ups. I have to agree with him, kind of. I guess I semi-agree with him? I remember some of the first mash-ups I saw and they were good, innovative, neat even! But since then the crap has been flying and Geoff will have nothing to do with it! What is it with creativity? Has it really all been done? I d love to speak to someone living about 200 years ago to see if they thought the same thing. We talked about this on ComaSow s inaguralish new redesigning episode which you can listen to here. We need new stuff people! And I don t mean like we get a Pulp Fiction and then 80 movies after that where the timing of the movie is all jumbled up. There has to be something! Geoff and I made a resolution to read a book to Rowan every night. We have done a good job with many thanks to my family for about 50 books they gave her for Christmas. One that I loved, and was the subject of Geoff s Weekly Constitutional, was Click, Clack, Moo, an early indoctrination into the world of unions via cows. What could be better? And what 3rd hour would be complete without food talk? Even though the show is now live 7-10 PM it doesn t mean that 3 hours of the best internet radio talk show, ever doesn t make a man hungry! We found a great site for reviews and ratings of local restaurants. It had very few missing and we joined up to start reviewing where we eat. Hey, at least we feel that our eating out is making a difference! So check out Urban Spoon, and make your voice heard! We know you all have great palates. And guess what? Our own Gary from Just Push Play is on TV! The schedule is changing this week but check in Monday to JPP live from 8 to 10 (if the crew has gotten rid of their sicknesses) to get the most up-to-date info.

There are a few things I feel I must tell you, though. First, we are taking nominations for Listener of the Year-2008. You can nominate someone (or yourself) here on our forums! Also, Geoff reviewed a fantastic book that he recommends to all-no matter what your beliefs. Even though it was written a few years ago and he s read it a few times, it still gets him riled up over what is going on out there. And to update you on the SomaCow Media doings of 2009 SomaCow is still going strong on Friday nights (live) for 3 hours (7-10 Eastern)! Join us! Or it could be that two years ago, when started this crap, We figured we d be set: in luxury s lap. The anger has flown, from one show to the next, To the point where JPP and TSB only send texts. The equipment is breaking, and a mountain of trash, Has stacked in the studio; Wait, is that hash? It s been a tough year for SomaCow Media, Inc. We ve seen a few shows flounder, falter, and then sink. Lord knows we ll miss the sounds of Syndown Gay German Ass Poundery, With Super Synth Sound. And who could forget our Dear Lunar Room? I can t understand why that show was doomed. It consisted of great talk, and music, and whorin I really miss the gay, and Eric, and Lauren I never got over the shock to my system When one Friday Night, The Aftermath went missin It wasn t that they quit, or were fired, per se. They just ceased arriving mysteriouslay eh? Another great loss, and a bitter end, tis true, Our Sister Show Say Anything, Voice of the Shrew Came when Jen, Debe, Diana, and that puppet broad Kari Collectively went all Aunt Flo (t was scary) Year s been a real bitch, you betcha, yeppers We ve lost more members than a whole camp of lepers Very little remains of the banner we raised The cow is near tippin , her eyes are a-glazed But what of the past? I ve never been one To sit and pine over what s over and done. To 2009, and what will cure our sinking ship! It better be good, and I hope it comes quick. First off, We ve brought on board a fiery new host, Take a moment with us and give him a toast! Prime Time Geek is the name you ll need in your browser The man has chops, mad knowledge, huge Bowsers. And with a bit of SomaCow polish, grace, grease and spit We re grabbing one show back from the podcasting pit Refire the barbie, and fill his mouth with some corn We re bringing Piggy back, ComaSow is reborn. Now, Geoff, you might say, as you listen these words I think you might have swapped brains with a bird Whyever, dear man, would you keep up this charade? I mean, seriously When is the last time ANYONE was paid? I could tell you some shit, about how we do it for more Than any of your precious shiny dollars afford. How we re fighting big media, giving ideas a voice How we re providing an independent and damned fine new choice. But the reality is, as I stand with you here I am not sure if all of us will be back next year. Some may go on, to pastures much greener. Some may get thrown out, if they don t learn to operate the fucking board. I am looking directly at you, Brian, you piece of utter shit. Do your fucking job, stop eating on my fucking board, quit breaking shit, and stop yelling into the fucking mic. You worthless, smarmy bastard. I wish your dad had shot you into the carpet. Anywhere, where was I? Oh yes, Merry Christmas. How in the hell could I ever have missed this? What I want to be clear, why we do what we do - We do what we do here for well you. It sure ain t the pay, SomaCow bleeds red out her ears Wonder if we can claim listeners as dependents this year? But there is something I earn, each time I crack the mic The ever growing response, what you hate, what you like. I hear from a bonzer guy, in Australia, no doubt - And he thinks it s wicked, what we re putting out. I hear from a sweet lady, avoiding retirement And she s knitting my baby new attirements We receive your emails, your phone calls, your letters We sit in stark awe at the discussion, unfettered. You suck, and we love it. You re right on point Hey Ross, it s your mother, can I get a joint? Maybe this year, we ll land a few paying spots to air, Lord knows, the economy is robust and prepared! But as long as there s will, and scratchies, and brew And listeners like Chrispy, and Iceman, and you I can promise you that, come success or obscurity We ll continue, we ll develop, we ll work, and we ll see. Perhaps one day, instead of scrabbling uphills We might break even after paying our bills. Until that day comes, just know we are pumped. To have you download us, and in ear be dumped. From unsnowing Florida, we say with eyes mistenin Merry Christmas, The Heard, and thank you for listenin! Oh, and also. Bowlful of Jelly. Just sayin .

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow brought to you by ComaSow which will hopefully be resurrected soon! Yes, J, sorry, but it s me. No witty Geoff here, but somone has to write the blog and since you aren t, I am. Speaking of J, it seems like Brian (tits mcgee) from Just Push Play is the new J at least in the firing department. He was fired again, I think. I guess we ll see Monday when JPP does their live show! Mickey says he s drinking again, but Geoff won t believe it until it s on Facebook. After all, nothing is true until it s on Facebook! So this isn t an official vote but we ll take nominations (by commenting on my awesome blog!) but who is the best listener? Someone who comments here? someone who listens live every Friday? someone who downloads every podcast? someone who downloads each podcast more than once?? Who would you nominate? (you can nominate yourself, it s ok) And in sad news, our first photo hung in the studio is one of Bettie Page on the beach. Beautiful photograph. We wish her happiness in the realm after life as she passed away this weekend. We d also like to thank The Redboy Podcast for our care package! We got some awesome Podcasting shirts (but the largest is 2XL maybe the cameras slim??) and a coffee mug and some magnets and pens and chip clips. Awesome stuff from Redboy and The Copy Shop. Check out the show and their shop! Let s support fellow podcasters and their endeavors. Speaking of which, anyone need any work done from  home? I am a great typist, editor (these blogs withstanding, I do them for free and usually with a baby on me so slack granted), whatever I can do for you! yeah, I m totally asking here you never know! If you need someone to do something for you/your business (not just anything, I do have SOME lines!) please email me, Jen, at jen@sayanythingradio.com thanks! And thank you all to listening to SomaCow and all of the SomaCow Media shows! Please tell a friend, or two!

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow brought to you by Def Leppard s Drummer. Do you have any idea how hard it is to do things one handed? You might laugh and think, Jen I only need one hand for that and to that I say sometimes you have to switch hands! Cramping! One day Geoff asked me what advice I d give moms-to-be, and while I pondered the answer to his question, while holding Rowan, keeping her from grabbing the knife on the table, while I cut my food with a fork, he interjected, I d say doing things one-handed . Until that moment I hadn t noticed all I had started doing, albeit slowly, with only one upper appendage. And I d have to agree with him. Laundry, dishes, eating all are done differently now. Multi-tasking at its finest. And why am I even talking about this? Because I am typing this whole blog one-handed, duh. But I digress (before my arm cramps up more) and back to hour 2 of SomaCow In this hour, the guys talked about their dream bedrooms, their love of music and then realized that they were SomaCow, not the new Say Anything. So they decided they all needed to talk about their manly things they did this week and their not-so-manly things. Speaking of a new Say Anything, as you may know (and if you don t I m about to tell you), I co-hosted a show called Say Anything. We had been going for about a year and a half and through some personnel changes, job changes, and just life changes, the show is down to me. As much as I m sure everyone would just love an hour of me and Rowan (/sarcasm), it just isn t the best idea. So Geoff and I are talking about doing a show together, reviewing the music that comes into the studio and previewing albums for you, The Heard. We re flushing out the details (and the name SynDown? ComaSow? Say Anything?) and will keep you posted! Mickey reminds us all at the :40 to put on our mask first, and good advice that is! smooches until Friday (join us live at Ustream 7-10 PM Eastern)!
