READ THIS IF YOU THINK CLIMATE CHANGES ARE TOO BIG TO HANDLE IN YOUR OWN LIFE: http://facebook.com/ido30 Some might argue that we can't make a difference. It's easy to think that big companies and politicians don't give a damn about our planet, so we ordinary people might as well give up. Well, we agree that it can seem too complicated to even try. But we really really believe that it's important never to give up. We believe that if enough people push hard enough, then ideas can turn into reality. The world will start turning in the direction we focus on. So lets focus on the small things we CAN do. This is where I do 30 comes in. There are lots of possibilities to save CO2 in our lives. Washing our clothes is one of the most energy consuming actions in our households. The big sinner here is the heating of the water. The more heat = more electricity = more CO2 emission. Many people still wash most of their laundry at 60 °C where low temperature washing could do the trick. Of course we shouldn't be fanatic! Sometimes it's still wise to wash at high temperatures. Use your common sense and ask yourself if a shirt needs to be boiled after a day's use. Malous family actually started to wash at 30 °C after they heard about I do 30 . So its important to communicate this message. And that's why we really appreciate that they wanted to help spread this simple idea to the world. One fantastic way to tell other people about this is by joining the I do 30 page on Facebook. It's really simple, but it can make a difference if enough people see it and change their habits. If you are on Facebook, visit http://facebook.com/ido30 I do 30 is started by Novozymes who produces enzymes that help reduce CO2 emission, for example by making it possible to wash at lower temperatures. (If you're not on Facebook you can read more on http://ido30.org)
