After months of so-called bipartisan negotiation, Max Baucus chairman of the Senate Finance Committee stood alone yesterday, looking like a sheepish sap. Whether he is playing for the insurance lobbyists’ or simply allowed the Republicans to play him as easily as one would play an air guitar, this sly fox or stupid idiot has done nothing but waste time and energy working on a bill that neither Democrats or Republicans will sign onto. The only positive aspect that came out of Senator Baucus’ efforts was the undeniable fact that the Republicans do not intend to assist the passage of any meaningful healthcare reform.
