There are 92 days until the Nike Women's Marathon, and I'm a little over two months into training. I started to feel like I was missing out on sharing what a wonderful experience I was going through, so I picked up my camera! This particualr run was a 4 mile race held in Central Park to benefit the Central Park Conservatory, and holy mess it was HOT! I focused on my race strategy as planned out by my awesome Team In Training coaches, and in the end, the run was great! Now, the million dollar question...why am I running? Team Center went filmracing last weekend, making a short film in 24 hours. The product of our labors, 'Keepsake,' will screen at NYU's Cantor Film Center, 36 E. 8th Street, this Saturday, April 5th at 1pm (by your tickets at the door at least 1/2 an hour in advance). We headed to New York City over the weekend to mainly do tourist-y sightseeing. We definitely accomplished that goal. In this, the first of three parts, we're taking the Staten Island Ferry as a cheap alternative to going to the Statue of Liberty directly. Also, we check out the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue, Central Park, and Times Square (Ali was excited about that). Carlos could barely hide his disappointment when he saw that the Statue of Liberty is not nearly as big as it appears in TV or in the movies.
