Mannequin ist eine US-amerikanische Fantasy-Filmkomödie aus dem Jahr 1987. Regie führte Michael Gottlieb, der gemeinsam mit Edward Rugoff auch das Drehbuch schrieb. Auch die Beziehung zu seiner Kollegin Roxie leidet unter dieser Situation. Durch einen Glücksfall bekommt Jonathan einen Job in einem anderen Kaufhaus und baut eine Schaufensterpuppe, die auf magische Weise und nur für Jonathan zum Leben erwacht. Sie lernt unter dem Namen Emma Isadora (Emmy) den Künstler kennen und verliebt sich in ihn. Ihre Inspiration hilft Switcher, beruflich erfolgreich zu sein. Das ruft die Konkurrenz auf den Plan, denn die neuen Schaufenster verhelfen dem Haus zu einem Aufschwung. Von Neid und Eifersucht getrieben versuchen Jonathans Konkurrenten, die Puppe zu entführen und zu zerstören. Doch kurz vor ihrer Zerstörung kann Jonathan sie retten und durch ein Wunder verwandelt sich Emmy endgültig in einen Menschen. Im Happy-End heiratet Jonathan seine Emmy dann in einem Schaufenster. Kritiken [Bearbeiten]Roger Ebert schrieb in der Chicago Sun-Times vom 13. Februar 1987, der Film sei „tot". Die Nebencharaktere seien „aus gescheiterten Sitcoms wiederverwendet" und würden genau das tun, was die Zuschauer erwarten würden genau dann, wann die Zuschauer es erwarten würden.[1] Das Lexikon des internationalen Films schrieb, die Komödie sei „manchmal übermütig" und „eher dramaturgisch zerfahren", aber „dank sympathischer Darsteller" „überwiegend unterhaltend". Sie karikiere „Leistungsdenken und Karriere-Kult".[2] Auszeichnungen [Bearbeiten]Albert Hammond und Diane Warren wurden im Jahr 1988 für den Song Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now für den Oscar wie auch für den Golden Globe Award und den Grammy Award nominiert. Sie gewannen den Film and Television Music Award der American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Andrew McCarthy und -- in zwei Kategorien -- Michael Gottlieb gewannen im Jahr 1987 Preise des italienischen Mostra Internazionale del Film de Fantascienza e del Fantastico di Roma (Fantafestival). Michael Gottlieb gewann im Jahr 1988 einen Preis des portugiesischen Filmfestivals Fantasporto und wurde für einen weiteren Preis des Festivals nominiert.
