The Lamb Chop Story!!!

The Lamb Chop Story!!!

from recent posts tagged gay - blip.tv (beta) on March 05, 2009
Duration: 542
Delving into the menacing world of Shari Lewis's beloved puppet Lamb Chop, this revelatory film explores her behavioral quirks and queernesses; her flaws and ticks, for they are what make her so beautiful. We get glimpses into the softer, darker sides of the puppet, as well as the livelier, more manic states of mind of which we are used to seeing on her TV show 'Lamb Chop's Play Along'. On 'Play Along' she was a magical gay icon, flopping about awkwardly and girlishly, giggling and exposing her silliest traits unabashedly, no matter how 'disturbing' they may have seemed to Shari or the viewer. Of course, she was inseparable from Ms. Lewis, and one gets the feeling that even if Shari threw the puppet in the fireplace, the eternal soul of the character would haunt and frighten her. As such, even after Ms. Lewis passes, Chop continues to sing 'the song that never ends,' because it never ever should end...even after death...I hope my channeling of Chop ensures that it never will. Filmed by Noah Freidman. 2009 by Felix Bernstein.
