Just random footage from my new (and first) camera hv30 shot during my friend's 18th birthday. This is also my first video so...go easy on me ahah :P I tried to color correct it with MagicBullet and Sony Vegas. I never used a program like this but it's quite easy and intuitive to edit clips with it and use the basic commands, i think i will keep using it. ...and to the community of Vimeo, hello everyone! The Bird Market in Yogyakarta/Indonesia is not just an ordinary bird market. It's a fascinating and buzzing place full of energy and life. All kinds of animals live and/or die here amongst people, who are also trying to make a living. We wanted to take a quick look at the market, but then stayed for over an hour. Luckily, a friendly local took us along and showed us around - and he also told us a little about himself. I took my camera and started filming...here's the result! Cast: Robin Meurer

Some spare footage I had lying around from a recent trip to the North island of New Zealand. These were taken on Christmas Day 2008 on the "back beach" of New Plymouth. The sand, as you can see, is jet black and the colours of the sunset lent a prehistoric ambience to the scene. Some shots are too long I know, but I just couldn't bring myself to cut them. No colour correction has been used and all shots are taken with the support of my trusty monopod. There are a few where you can see the pattern of the focusing glass. That was purely user error; I accidentally bumped the aperture ring down to about f8 and didn't notice until halfway through shooting. I have yet to perfect the art of exporting video from FCP. I still get a washed out colour (the original looks 10 times better) and strange colour grading where the edges go dark. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! I import in at HDV50i (PAL) and export as a quicktime .mov file using Compressor at these settings (the screengrabs): hv20.com/showthread.php?t=8085 What am I doing wrong? My first video: vimeo.com/2186843 looks perfect. I have no idea how that one can turn out so well, and every video since suffers from washed out colour when exporting. In April-May the Bois de Halle in Belgium becomes a blanket of flowers, mainly bluebells. They last just a few weeks, in Spring. Once the leaves come out on the trees the light is shaded from the wood floor and the flowers are no more. This was taken with a Canon HV30 and Letus Mini. I got some contrasting colours due to light differences in different parts of the wood. Cast: Jon Bryant
