Par delà bien d’autres sites - d’Amérique, d’Europe Saint-Cirq est le produit du plus rare équilibre dans la plus parfaite dénivellation des plans. Le village de Saint-Cirq Lapopie, accroché sur une falaise surplombant les berges de près de 100 mètres constitue l’un des sites majeurs de la vallée du Lot.Chef-lieu de l’une des quatre vicomtés du Quercy, Saint-Cirq Lapopie fut partagé au Moyen-Age entre quatre dynasties féodales, les Lapopie, les Gourdon, les Cardaillac et les Castelnau. De ce fait, plusieurs châteaux et maisons fortes constituaient le fort de Lapopie et dominaient le village. En contrebas du fort, les rues du village, fermées par des portes fortifiées, ont conservé de nombreuses maisons anciennes dont les façades en pierre ou en pans de bois datent pour la plupart du XIIIe au XVIe siècle. Etroites, elles sont caractérisées par leurs toits de tuiles plates, à fortes pentes. Les maisons à pignon sur rue sont séparées par un entremi, espace étroit recevant les eaux pluviales et les eaux usées des latrines et des éviers. It's a Can-Am Spyder. Takes up the space of a car, total road hog, not convenient to park like a motorcycle, heavier than a bike, and expensive too. Looks like a snowmobile on wheels. I personally hate it... but hey, if you wanna marry it, be my guest. *yawn* Now if it had a futuristic overhead covering (like a car) for aerodynamics and rain protection, or it got 100+ to 200+ mpg, I would buy one. To me, if you're going to embark on a design, it should have a significant technical advantage someway or another. Furthermore, if you're going to attempt something radical, go all the way. They should have made this with a low recumbent postion (low center of mass), with fairings that are electronically controlled to behave like airplane sails to assist high speed cornering. If it could outperform both a car (in cornering) and a bike (in acceleration), then at least it could have bragging rights. To me, this is just another car. Makes you wonder if these guys did a market or focus-group survey to see if the Spyder was indeed what riders wanted.

Dave and I test-ride a Bombardier Outlander 800HO XT, equipped with Bombardier's Apache track system. We were evaluating the system for a telecommunications company. In this clip, we were doing a high-speed run back to our trucks. Our camera-vehicle was a snowmobile. We were riding near Kelowna, BC, Canada. First Legends Race at Buena Park Raceway 12-16-2006. Hosted by Team Boola. D3 Can Am Inline chassis, FK sealed motors, D3 Anglewinder Pro bodies with side dams.
