And I don't think I have ever had a single comp with so many connections to chance and happy accidents. Before I get too big-headed, let me explain how this was compiled (not that chance has anything to do with skill, or can it?): I started out making the audio first, which are two patches layered. I didn't make the patches, but huge props to the peeps who made the toilet-bowl patch and ValEVarion Evolved 1.0.3 (I promise I will research that and post it, I just can't find it now). The layer with the percussive/rhythmic qualities is the toilet-bowl-thing and the melody comes from "Val". I believe I have a basic understanding of how these patches work, and I have been inspired by them. So I made a series of like 5 or 6 variations of these tracks, went nuts on some a/v technology research/recordings/edits (what you see will be much more), and I just happened to notice one day that this and that would be a nice match-up, I combined them, and there were all kinds of synchronizations goin' down. At that point I was all like "ooh" and "ahh" and "oohahh" and now I have all kinds of plans. I need to exploit the sync between the audio and visual delays better, and just go all out. Or maybe thats exactly where I'm wrong. Maybe, just maybe, I need to perfect the "ambience-av-style" first. Like, maybe get away from the "goin' bonkers" thing. Yeah! 'Cause these "happy seconds" (or moments of beauty by chance) are hardly ever considered bonkers. Actually I'm not going to do that I changed my mind its not a science in a sense that theres no right and wrong yes you can (and probably should) rely on some kind of system as far as dynamic space and time but damn man improvisation is so important 'cause when in search of a design solution there are usually multiples of them and if I have all of these different methods in my bag then its just a matter of selection, and then trial and error. OR STH! But perhaps the coolest thing is how audio inspires visual, and vice versa. Cast: abxdrakt
