Ses chansons à texte révèlent les mille et une facettes d'un chanteur prometteur qui ne se débine pas lorsqu'il s'agit de s'ouvrir, de s'offrir. Emmené sur scène par deux musiciens, ou, pour les prestations plus intimistes, en solo, ses performances ont tôt fait de transporter le spectateur dans une succession d'univers enchanteurs, forgés d'éclats de rire ou d'appels frondeurs, mais toujours portés par le même élan de tendresse et de générosité. En route pour un Monde d'Amour ! Hier : Né le 6 janvier 1976, Nicolas Michel suit sa scolarité à l’école R. Steiner de Lausanne. Un bac scientifique en poche, il part pratiquer l’art dramatique à l’école du Théâtre National de Chaillot à Paris. De retour en Suisse, il goûte aux différents mondes du spectacle, s’intéresse au travail social et à la méditation vipassana. Parallèlement, il compose une trentaine de chansons, et enregistre un 1er disque avec un groupe qui se sépare au printemps 2003. Cette aventure musicale aurait pu s'arrêter là sans l'intervention d'un des fans du groupe, âgé de 1 an et demi. en effet, le neveu du chanteur n'a de cesse de brandir leur disque en criant : "K !". K, bien sûr, car comment prononcer Nicolas quand on parle à peine ? Acceptant ce nouveau baptême, K reprend sa guitare pour un premier concert solo remarqué sur la scène du bleu lézard à Lausanne. Dès lors les rencontres et les projets s'enchaînent avec de nombreux concerts en solo ou en groupe, qui passent par la Maroquinerie de Paris (fr), le festival Mars en chansons (be), le Paléo festival (ch) ou, plus récemment, le Printemps de Bourges (fr), le festival "alors chante !" de Montauban (fr) et les Francofolies de la Rochelle (fr). En septembre 2005, le public découvre le premier album studio de K : "l'arbre rouge" qui est distribué en Suisse par Disque Office et largement diffusé sur les ondes. Cet arbre s'enracine dans la générosité exceptionnelle d'une multitude de jardiniers tous autant passionnés qu'ils soient musiciens, ingénieurs, graphistes, managers, photographes, journalistes, directeurs de salle et surtout public. Ce disque porte leurs fruits ! Aujourd'hui : Alors que la voie d'une distribution en France est ouverte, le label indépendant divatone sort, en Suisse, le coffret "k en public au Paléo", une occasion de revivre un moment fort en émotion et nos premiers pas sur une grande scène dans une mise en scène de Raphaël Noir ! "Cof Cof have been quickly and surely establishing themselves at the top of my list of bands to watch, if I were so presumptuous as to make such a list, which I pray I never will be. Their lovable brand of Spanish, synthy dance pop is evolving like the aliens in that underrated David Duchovney movie (which one, right?). Their latest release is actually in the form of several new songs at once, compiled with a couple of their older tracks into a pretty damn solid full length debut album entitled Who Said Party?.
