Jeffrey has an incredible conversation with Dr. Merlinda Arnold, an interfaith minister, psychotherapist, choreographer, and change agent recognized for the lectures and workshops she has presented internationally over the past twenty-five years to promote wholeness and peace. Dr. Arnold is also the and executive director of Sacred Way connecting ancient wisdom with contemporary insights which also produces guided tours of sacred sites worldwide. As an expert in depth psychology, world religion, mythology, and cultural anthropology, Dr. Arnold has worked with prominent scholars such as James Hillman, Joseph Campbell, Marija Gimbutas, and Matthew Fox. Dr. Arnold served as The New Seminary’s american representative in Israel during the intifada of the late 1980s and early 1990s and has led women’s groups in Egypt, Greece, and Crete, as well as throughout Europe and the Americas, to explore ancient feminine mystery rites. Her art and dance workshop program, “The Mystery Quest,” uses as a therapeutic tool a replica of the Phaestos Disk from Crete dating to 1700 BC. In addition Dr. Arnold served as New Mexico events director for the presidential campaigns of Dennis Kucinich and John Kerry, led a pro bono group for murder victims’ families opposing the death penalty, and participated in several international relief efforts, including the 2005 Tsunami Response. She also co-founded Unity in Action, a nonpartisan political organization committed to uncovering common core beliefs to foster connections among people with different political views. Dr. Arnold is the author of The Book of Grace: On the Missing Scroll of Light, as well as two other titles: Omm Sety Remembered and The Fertile Crescent Revisited: Awakening the Buried Feminine to Heal Trauma. She also produced the DVD Dancing on the Milky Way I, which was featured at the 2006 New Mexico Film Guild Festival. We last spoke with Dr. Arnold last summer about her very special role as the guardian of the Om Sety manuscripts. Since that time Dr. Arnold has been to sacred sites throughout Europe, last fall focusing on a trip to the Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland. Recently she has has accomplished a great deal of research regarding the Pyramid Texts and the sacred areas of Abydos as they relate to the revelations in the Omm Sety manuscripts. This is a very special conversation and it will be presented in 3 parts because of the detail and broad based nature of it’s content. I’m sure you will find it as fascinating and eye opening as I did, and you will come away with a greater understanding of the Egyptian mystery schools and their historical underpinnings and how they relate to astrology, the development of western civilization and conscious human evolution. The death toll from China's earthquake continues to rise from NTDTV on Vimeo. Kean Wong: And begin today's broadcast with continuing coverage of the deadly earthquake in China. The latest reports say that at least ten thousand are dead. Here's the latest from Sichuan Province. State media reports says the number of dead is likely to soar. According to reports ten thousand people remained buried in the Mianzhu area of Sichuan Province. The quake's epicenter was in Wenchuan, a hilly area about 100 kilometers from the provincial capital Chengdu. The quake measured a staggering 7.9 on the Richter Scale. In Dujiangyan, located midway between Chengdu and the epicenter, there are scenes of devastation, with buildings reduced to rubble and bodies in the streets, some only partially covered. Many residents simply stood beside their wrecked homes, cradling possessions in their arms. Overnight, crews continued to pull bodies from homes, schools, factories and hospitals demolished by the quake. In the same city, about 900 teenagers were buried under a collapsed three-story school building. State television showed highways buckled and caved in from the quake and massive rock slides lining the roads. The U.S. Geological Survey upgraded the initial tremor to magnitude 7.9, followed by a series of aftershocks. Resident say the land continued to shake overnight. The Sichuan quake is the worst to hit China since the 1976 Tangshan tremor in northeastern China where up to 300,000 died. Cast: NTDTV
