Hommage à Ian Curtis (1956-1980).Joy Division est un groupe anglais formé en 1976 à Manchester, inscrit dans la mouvance post-punk et initiateur de la cold wave. Le groupe défricheur de nouveaux territoires sera dissous en mai 1980 après le suicide de son chanteur à la voix caverneuse, Ian Curtis, alors âgé de 23 ans.Les trois membres restants du groupe ont formé New Order quelques mois plus tard, avec la musicienne Gillian Gilbert. Des dizaines d'années après sa disparition, Joy Division reste une comète majeure du rock anglais par la puissance souterraine de sa musique, qui semble inaltérable, bien qu'aride. Ce statut s’est construit avec les années, ils n’étaient pas aussi nombreux à l’époque à sentir la véracité du groupe. Le suicide de Ian Curtis intervient juste avant une tournée américaine qui aurait peut-être changé le destin du groupe.Seuls deux albums ont été produits. Formé en 1980, New Order est un groupe new wave / electro-pop britannique originaire de Manchester. Il se compose au départ des membres restant du groupe Joy Division dont le chanteur Ian Curtis s'est suicidé. À la suite de ce drame, ils optent pour un changement de nom et adoptent celui de New Order sur une suggestion de leur manager, Rob Gretton. Après une séparation en 1993, le groupe se reforme en 2001.
