http://brainwavesynchronization.blogspot.com - Brainwave entrainment or "brainwave synchronization," is any practice that aims to cause brainwave frequency to fall into step with a periodic stimulus having a frequency corresponding to the intended brain-state (for example, to induce sleep). It depends upon a "frequency following" response, a naturally occurring phenomenon where the human brain has a tendency to change its dominant EEG frequency towards the frequency of a dominant external stimulus. Such a stimulus may be aural, as in the case of binaural beats and isochronic tones, or else visual, as with a dreamachine, a combination of the two with a mind machine, or even electromagnetic radiation.

The x-axis on currently shows 0-12Hertz for the left and right, the Alpha threshold is 8-12hz and often clusters of peaks in alignment are noticeable between Theta and Alpha for both sides. in this clip Mike is wearing IBVA EEG monitor, his left and right hemisphere's EEG is projected behind him - you can see a lot of rhythmic eye and activity when he plucks or taps the violin at the start, his right side also shows more activity in general, there is no Beta ( concentration ) waves,, so he looks like he's done this before ! Most the spikes and peaks are Theta and before.In the second movement he uses pedals for delay and echo - so you see even more calm as he makes his own tempo and Jams over himself.... he's not using the IBVA visual feedback like Tom did when he rapped to it, i still think it looks mystical and beautiful with his haunting sound.
