Okay, we know it’s Black Box theater Wednesday and we should have some local, affordable theater to recommend as per usual, but quit frankly, we did not see anything this week that would rate your attention. We did however get to some good stuff on the silver screen. The Ruins and Street Kings are our recommendations for an evening of kick ass action and scary spine chilling suspense. In Street Kings, Forest Whitaker as captain Jack Wander goes head to head with Keanu Reeves as detective Tom Ludlow, the kick ass detective being used by the captain to do the dirty work while he and the rest of his elite unit is raking in big dough from their own street drug sales. Whitaker is able to operate with immunity since he has the goods on all power figures in the Los Angeles political scene as well as the LAPD.
