Director Manfred Reiff immediately knew he wanted the penguin to find ice. Using the NV24HD allowed Reiff to shoot in a spontaneous and immediate manner. Its compact size made this shoot the first one he s ever done with a camera that fits in his pocket.

When Eduardo Bono set out to make a movie about a penguin and a beauty queen, he had a lot of ideas at first, but one in particular made the most sense to him. He was taken with the idea of a beautiful girl sharing her space with a penguin she looks up to like a mentor. And so Miss Isla Tropica was born. He used the powerful images from the NV24HD to execute the vision of his film in both still and moving images.

Director John Hobbs' vision of turning an image of a penguin and a beauty queen into a short film was to dial up the oddity. Since he already found the picture dream-like, his objective was to have fun with it and leave enough room for the audience to fill in the blanks on their own. John Hobbs was an award-winning art director for many years before becoming a film and commercial director.
