Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) has the firm determination, dedication and devotion to keep on working until the democracy restore in Burma. Burma's legitimate leader, Aung San Suu Kyi once said that- There have been many words supporting democracy, and we are duly grateful for them, because we do not underestimate the power of words. Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) calls on the international community to bring the Burmese Military Junta to justice for forcefully repressing the people of Burma. The International Community must commit to more aggressive and viable solutions to resolve the crisis in Burma. The free world urged Burma to consider the ideology of democracy. At great personal risk Burmese people chose to stand defiant and vote with their hearts and minds, not from the barrel of a gun. The criminal regime of Than Shwe has crossed the boundaries of morality as well as sanity. The shear brutality of this regime has reached epic perorations in senseless crimes against humanity. The free and democratic would have a moral responsibility to intervene on behalf of humanity. United Nations : Take Action On Burma Now !

Aung San Suu Kyi has been calling for genuine time-bound dialogue. Military regime fails to cooperate and they are planning to hold another election in 2010 without honoring the 1990 elections results in which Aung San Suu Kyis party, National League for Democracy (NLD), won landslide victory. This is time to take actions and not words. Military government bought the time for 20 years and we should not let it happen anymore. United Nations must set out the dead line to do genuine time bound dialogue with democratic forces led by Aung San Suu Kyi. If military regime doesnt understand carrot and then, it is time to use stick. United Nations must step up further in order to solve Burma crisis and actions needed to be taken practically focus on to implement 1990 Elections result. There is no question what the demands of Aung San Suu Kyi and National League for Democracy (NLD) are fore they never changed. On February 2, 2009 they reaffirmed their position to; •recognise 1990 election results accordingly •review 2008 constitution •allow to convene peoples assembly based on 1990 election result •release all political prisoners including Aung San Suu Kyi For more information visit Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) at http://www.bdcburma.org http://bdc-burma.blogspot.com/ http://www.gcast.com/u/bdcburma/main

By means of nonviolence protest, people can boycott totalitarian rule such as education, persuasion, civil disobedience, direct action, noncooperation with political, economic or social authorities. Non-cooperation and peaceful resistance were Gandhi's weapons in the fight against injustice. With the people power, throughout the history, evolutions and revolutions occurred and eventually restore the justice. Learning from history, justice over injustice and for the Burmese public we can take action against junta by nonviolent ways.

Burma Democratic Concerns (BDC) has determined that it is time for Ibrahim Gambari to vacate his post as United Nations Envoy to Burma. His continual failure to stem the tide of genocide has yielded catastrophic results in human suffering and death to the citizens of Burma. His efforts to bring democracy to Burma were counterproductive at best. Myo Thein, Director of Burma Democratic Concerns in the United Kingdom, ascertained, We have been expressing our doubts over his (Gambari) impartiality and now the image is much clearer that he is merely a special advocate for the Burmese Junta

VENERABLE SAYADAW U UTTARA CALLS FOR WORLD LEADERS

Venerable Sayadaw U Uttara is the prominent Buddhist Monk Leader. He calls for the world citizens and world leaders to work harder to realise the mandates given by Aung San Suu Kyi and National League for Democracy (NLD) which won the 1990 election overwhelmingly. U Uttara highlighted the importance of four main principles demanded by Aung San Suu Kyi and National League for Democracy (NLD), on February 2, 2009, when they met with the visiting UN envoy, i.e. * to put more pressure on the military regime to release all political prisoners including Aung San Suu Kyi immediately and unconditionally * to review on the constitution which is designed to legitimize military rule in Burma and adopted unilaterally in 2008 * to recognize the 1990 election result in which Aung San Suu Kyi's party won landslide victory * to allow to convene the people's parliament based on 1990 election result These would be the minimum terms needed to be fulfilled before NLD could have a dialogue with the Burmese military rulers, they reaffirmed. They are the mandates given by our leaders and it is our duty to realise them, he added.
