Banyini pan was now just at the right level where the baboons could get onto this island of greenery in a sea of dry parched landscape. For the baboons it was like one big salad feast. A baby hanging onto mom s tummy reaches down and tests the water while mom frantically plucks away at the abundant salad.

A baboon troop have come to drink at Banyini with their crazy up and down tails. Life is always a little tense as they re always maintaining a hierarchy in the ranks. An adult low ranking female is attacked by a sub adult male for no reason. She keeps her cool knowing that any retribution could land her in deep trouble.

7 members of the Nduna pride were holed up at Manyuchi pan. Doing what lions do so well. A troop of baboons came wandering down to drink at the pan but were stopped in their tracks and then proceeded to shout abuses at the lions before conintuing on to drink and the lions pretending to ignore them.

Like other animals, kudu rely on baboons for sounding danger. With baboons all around the pan, the kudu know it's safe to drink. An impala snorts an alarm putting all on edge, but seeing the baboon aren't reacting the kudu settle down to drink. A family dispute in the troop spooks the kudu and they move off.
